Hi all, I'm due twin girls in December and am looking for alternatives to NCT. Does anybody have any recommendations for antenatal classes in/around North Leeds?

Thank you!

Congratulations Thanks

Have you tried MN local?

Tamba run some twin specific courses. Check their website to see if there's anything local.

Thanks all, have been doing some research but there's not a whole lot on offer unfortunately.

I am a Tamba member and have been to a few seminars etc but they only run one day courses and I was hoping for something a bit more substantial.

Will keep looking!

Most non-nct classes are focus on birth and are run by either midwives or NCT trained facilitators. There aren't that many ways to train to do it well. Have you tried Lazy Daisy? They are the biggest provider after the NCT probably but as far as I know they focus on birth ( and the training is not university accredited like the NCT training). What sort of thing are you looking for? The TAMBA one day ones are excellent and the best for specific twin stuff.

I live in north leeds and did a free course called Pregnancy, birth and beyond at a children's centre. Initially set up last year it is spreading across the city. The midwife can refer although some areas are further on with the roll out than others.
I was pleasantly surprised by how diverse the group was (I actually did mine in s.leeds as there wasn't one at my local cc in the summer due to hols).
Very good info in session 3 on labour (run by midwife) and session 4 on feeding.
Some is a bit common sense but the health visitors were lovely and it was nice to chat to other mums in a similar position.
