Does anyone know what weeks nhs occupational mat pay is calculated based on? I've skim read my trust's maternity policy and Googled it but I'm still not clear! Tia.

"15.23 Full pay will be calculated using the average weekly earnings rules used for calculating Statutory Maternity Pay entitlements..." <a class="break-all" href="https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.nhsemployers.org/~/media/Employers/Documents/Pay%2520and%2520reward/AfC_tc_of_service_handbook_fb.pdf&ved=0CBwQFjAAahUKEwjd8p7Aos7HAhXGNNsKHU7AClk&usg=AFQjCNGRgbaVGUB1LFt3vxjE1NQcFH9W1A&sig2=iuJjGbsy_EAqUcA4IFxSrQ" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Agenda for Change

Which means weeks 17-25.

Oh thanks. So if I'm 17 weeks around mid October then does that mean they will only count from mid Oct or will they just look at October and November pay slips?

They'll use your earnings in the 8 weeks prior to the 15th week before expected week of child birth. So they'll use your earnings from week 17 to 25. They include enhancements and overtime. They discount salary sacrifices. So for me I have £380 of childcare sal sac each month and am A&C so no enhancements etc but they'll base my OMP on my whole basic salary. Not basic minus the sal sac. Does that make sense?

I would advise you to speak to your payroll officer as they'll be able to talk you through it and they can do you a quote so you can see what you would get monthly whilst on maternity leave. I'm having my OMP spread equally over 39 weeks. So a low first month but not so bad once SMP kicks in.
