retro-placental clot - anyone had any experience?

Hi - just wondering if anyone can offer any reassurance. I'm 12-13 weeks and has a fairly heavy bleed last night so was seen by the emergency obstetric team. The scan showed the baby is normal and healthy but that there is a clot in my womb which is causing the bleed (they think)? The doctor said at the moment everything is fine and I'm not miscarrying but in some cases a bleed from a clot can disrupt a pregnancy. There wasn't really any info given on the likelihood of it going either way. We were told just to brace ourselves for a time of worry. No review appointment but I've to go back if bleeding gets worse. My notes say retro-placental clot. The bleeding has continued and I am trying to be positive but can't help but worry - especially now that we have announced the pregnancy. I know there's absolutely nothing that can be done to change outcome but I just feel like I don't actually know what I'm dealing with, so if anyone can shed some light or share their experience I'd be so so grateful. Thanks in advance.
