Is pregnancy catnip for cats?

I'm 35 weeks and for the last few months my cat has been glued to my side. I'm always getting nudged for cuddles and she'll happily flop by my side purring away for ages. Before this she would usually just sleep upstairs all day on our bed. It was the same when I was pregnant with DD. Anyone else got super affectionate cats since becoming pregnant?

Yes. Despite a new puppy with a tendency to chase, I'm only 15 weeks and find two of the three cats are determined to be wherever I am. It's lovely, but sleeping in a nest of two dogs and two cats is overwhelmingly hot. Also, I can't stand it when they try to sit/lie on my belly, so they're constantly being moved to one side.

14 weeks and I am struggling to type this as my cat keeps kneading me all over! She has been on my lap for most of the afternoon. This is not usual behaviour for her!

Not mine. As soon as I fell pregnant she started shitting in the house. We had a month of it (and DH having to scrub carpets daily) before she stopped. It was like her own little dirty protest at yet another interloper in her territory.

Dh's parents' cats were ONLY affectionate to me when I was pregnant.
