Will I be offered an early scan?

Hi all! I have a 3 month old baby and I am pregnant again. I found out I was pregnant about a month ago, but only managed to get an appointment last week. I have yet to receive a booking appt with the midwife. I have not had a period since LO was born so I have no idea how far along I am. We dtd when LO was 5 weeks & that has been the only time, but I have no idea when I conceived. I was just wondering whether I would be offered an early scan because of this? If not I was thinking about booking a private early scan because I don't want to wait until the 12 week one to find out how far along I am, I may even be more than 12 weeks at that point. Has anyone had either an early private or NHS scan? & if so what are your experiences?

Well if you've only had sex once you should have a fair idea when you conceived surely?

You may have to ask, I don't think they routinely offer.

I have always had irregular periods and have ovulated on and off for years. Hence why I am not sure when I conceived. I haven't had a period since last august and that one was 3 weeks late.

I had an early scan at 9 weeks due to bleeding. It was on the NHS and was absolutely fine.

Sperm can only live for 5 days so if you've only had sex once since the birth, that should narrow down when you conceived

But if you've only had sex once since you gave birth to your baby then surely that's when you conceived?

If you've only had sex once then that must be when you conceived. So if baby is 12 weeks that would put you at roughly 9 weeks now.

But if you've had sex once, then that's when you definitely conceived....right?!
I don't think the NHS will offer you an early scan, at least they wouldn't in my area. But you won't be far off the 12 week scan anyway.

At your appt last week, did you tell them you know when you conceived?

I made an error, the post was supposed to say 5 weeks was the first time since having LO I dtd. Ive booked a private scan for £35 where I went with my last pregnancy.
