Can anyone recommend a good pregnancy app (android)? I looked at some but they are all very American. I'd like pics/diagrams of babies size if possible.

Note- I am prob doing this way too early.... only 5 days after missed period and v.v.faint line on pregnancy test. Keeping my fingers crossed though!!

I've got one called Ovia, also the baby centre one. I think I also have the what to expect one, but also have the book so don't look at it much - agree about the Americanisms! And congratulations! Hope all goes well for you.

I love the Pregnancy+ app
It has daily updates, weekly updates, scan and normal photos, shopping lists, baby names, hospital bag, you can put your appointments in it
It's free til 14 weeks so have a go

Great, thanks.

Anyone got one that compares the fetus to fruit? 'this week she is a satsuma' kind of thing!?!

That Ovia one compares it to fruit, French patisserie products, weird but cute animals and two other options. It's very amusing!

My embryo is currently the size of an Eastern Blue Butterfly. Which is cool!

IndomitabIe · 22/08/2015 12:50

Oops, the app has just told me that it's officially a foetus now.

I have 'cute fruit.' My dd loves it! She reminds me every Tuesday that it's the day we look to see what size baby is (mango at the moment!). Would definitely recommend as a fun thing to do if you have other dc.

I never used an app but did look it up on line every week. I have to say, that after 14 weeks it all gets very boring as baby is pretty much just growing!

The first few weeks are definitely the most exciting, so you are not doing it too early!

I would just say bear in mind that many of those apps seem determined to convince you that you need to worry about random shit and buy every product on the market. At the start there is a lot to say. By the end....not so much. Grin

Pregnancy+ I've got and I love the weekly and daily info and the fact you can write a few notes, add your weight and upload bump pics and then transfer to your email to keep :-) you can also see your progress in fruit and pictures of what your little bean might look like :-)

I would be very wary about the apps until you are a bit further along. You have to input your email to get any kind of real information and they then email you all kinds of stuff. Which is fine (if a little annoying) when pregnant.

I downloaded the apps and then had a miscarriage (3 in fact) was bad enough to start deleting apps but to then have to open those emails to unsubscribe and then find the fuckers have sold your data (which make no mistake they do) and then be hounded by other emails from other companies and finally telling Phillips Avent in no uncertain terms they had contravened the data protection act by continuing to contact me after I'd clicked unsubscribe and their communications were causing distress, also contravening the act.

Cue a very apologetic email from Avent customer services.

I don't mean to be the voice of doom, but you are only 5 days late. For your sanity, I'd give it a few more weeks. You've got a long way to go yet and plenty of time to sign up for all that marketing shite

Good point Brummie, I guess there is no rush. At least when (if) I download one it will be a good one! Sorry for your losses.
