Swollen hands

I'm just after some reassurance that this is normal - almost 36 weeks - from yesterday have been getting swollen hands on and off.

Last pregnancy I had lots of ankle swelling however this time it's all been totally normal. I know swollen hands is a normal symptom in the heat but then you read about pre-eclampsia & I'm paranoid!! This is just normal right?!??

My mum and best friend both had to have their wedding rings cut off due to swollen hands/ fingers. They had nothing else wrong with them.

My hands are swollen I'm 26+4 and I went to see the nurse (quicker to see then gp!) to get my blood pressure taken, she also did urine sample to check protein levels, so would advise you did this and just ask for the nurse if your GP is busy like mine.
Yes pre eclampsia is a cause of swollen hands etc so you must get it checked just in case as it can be very dangerous.

.... Sorry and btw mine was all clear, she said it was due to carrying more water and the blood supply pumping faster etc can cause swelling.
But still get it checked just in case.

I have this but no swelling in my feet. It's part of the carpal tunnel syndrome that comes with pregnancy. I admit I'm pretty paranoid about it too, but no other symptoms of pre-eclampsia and all the typical signs of carpal tunnel - hands sore at night and in the morning, tingly and feel sort of inflated, and sore if I do something manual. Sounds like you might have the same as me? I'm 39 weeks and have had this for about a month, and it's gradually got worse.
