Is this a miscarriage?

Hi
Sorry this message may be graphic!
I started bleeding yesterday. Slightly complicated but when my AF was due my pregnancy tests were negative. However the doc did a blood test and it showed I was pregnant but not as far a,not as I should have been based on LMP which I found odd.

So based on blood tests and scan I was 6 weeks. I had a scan on Thursday.
Friday morning I started bleeding - not loads - a decent amount when I wiped and then very very light spotting the rest of the day. It was bright red.

Last night at bed time I passed a clot- dark red and again no pain but hardly any blood accompanying it- I just wiped and there was a clot. Overnight and today I've had no bleeding or pain. Accept now I just wiped and some dark dark red/brown stringy blood. Not much.

I'd assumed I was miscarrying and have been back on the caffeine! Thought I may as well have some food stuff! But I'm confused why the bleeding has slowed down and I've had no pain. I've started to think maybe there's a chance I'm not?? Is it normal when miscarrying for blood to slow down? Is this the calm before the storm?? Should I be in pain now if it was a m/c?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

As you are so few weeks in, I think it's hard to tell. I had a miscarriage at about 8-10 week's and I thought I was having a normal period (a bit like the bleeding you're experiencing). Then, suddenly-whoosh! This was a few days afterwards and most definitely a miscarriage.

As the blood is now brown I reckon there's a chance you're still pg. Fingers crossed, anyway.

I've never had a MC so can't advise on that, but I have had moderate early bleeding in both pregnancies - enough to make me think I was MC both times, but pregnancy one is now a 2 year old and I am now 32 weeks pg with pregnancy two so FX yours is the same. Thanks Smile

...meant to add that, like the pp above, I also had bleeding in my second pg (didn't realise I was pg) but all turned out fine.

Hoping for the bestFlowers.

I've had bleeding 3 tines in this pregnancy I'm now 18+1 worth a healthy baby. .
I did bleed a hell of alot the first time no clots but some very stringy dark red blood but I couldn't get a scan until about 3 weeks later when i was 9+2 which by then I had another bleed the epu tested me to make sure I was still pg and the scan showed a little wriggly baby. . i then u had another bleed about 10+5 the mw said she believes it was break through bleeding from my AF as that placenta doesn't take over until about 12 - 14 weeks so doesn't always control the bleeding which is very common..
I hope your situation is simliar with the harmless bleeding and wish you all the luck I'm the world.. take care hun x

Not necessarily at all. I had this type of bleeding around 6-8 weeks with all 3 of my kids and exactly what you're describing with my last. So don't despair yet. Go into EPU and get scanned. Your GP can arrange or call the EPU directly at the hospital you're booked to deliver at (if you've not yet arranged this, then just ring your GP and request a scan which will be made within the week).
I did have a MC a few years back which was all brown blood and clots but went on for days. The fact that your red has turned to brown and slowed is encouraging. But take it easy. Try and stay calm and rest. Flowers
