Hello, I've just had my LO 2weeks ago & was looking into breast pumps. Can anyone suggest any Electric Pumps??

Thank you

I started out with medela swing, it was ok but i didntfind it that efficient. I then bought a second hand lactaline pump, it was a double, and it worked so much better

Some hospitals will rent the out to you, so worth looking at that too

I too started out with a Medela Swing, but then learned about the difference between 'open system' and 'closed system' pumps (read this) and decided to switch to a different one. Also because I needed something with a bit more oomph for when I went back to work and needed to pump more efficiently. I bought the Ardo Calypso double and was really pleased with it. And because it's a 'closed system' I can sell it on later with a clean conscience. I also bought a 'pumping bustier' (mmm, sexy) online (although you could also easily make one out of a tube top or old bra) so that I could pump hands-free.

But, it all kind of depends on what type of pumping you want to do. Just occasionally for someone else to help out with feeding? Or are you pumping to build up supply/ going back to work/ etc? If the former, then a simple hand pump will do (again, Ardo do a really good one and I found it yielded as much for me as the electric, but obviously it's more labour intensive). If the latter, then you need something more hardcore.
