How old is too old?

I have a 4.5 month through ivf. I loved being pregnancy and now love being a mum! I am 37 and would love another but I'm not sure if I am too old?

I have just felt old after giving birth and am wondering if I could do it all again, having a newborn plus a toddler!

I'm just worried about the hormones to prepare for ivf plus pregnancy, giving birth then the umpteen sleepless nights would wreck my body and health due to my age?

Friends have told me too enjoy my current baby first which I am doing but if I do have another it'd surely be better to try sooner, I'm thinking to give myself a year to recover before trying again?

What do people think is too old? Is there a too old? Are there any older mums out there? Is it possible to cope?!!!!

I am 41 and due in 2 weeks time with No 2. I don't think I am too old. I don't see too much difference between my younger friends re energy levels etc. And also, it is what it is, I didn't choose to meet my husband later in my life, that's just the way it happened.

To give a different flavour to musicmum's consultant story - I asked my consultant a question about whether a certain risk increased after 40. She looked at me puzzled so I said 'I am 41', she looked at my DOB on my notes (as if I was making it up!) and said 'oh, I didn't think you were over 40!'… I luffs a compliment ...

My mum had my sister at 45. She had thought she was going through the menopause...!

I had DD at nearly 40 and now, aged 42, would have another in a heartbeat. DH not so sure!
I'm very fit, do more with her than most mums younger than me. The other day I walked for over an hour with her on my back in a toddler sling. Age is just a number.
I want another baby Sad

I think age depends on how old you feel in yourself, if you feel able and ready to look after another baby then go for it

Don't be silly. You're not too old. My grandma had her last at 46.

Hi MusicMum 18
I'm 45 and currently 12 weeks pregnant. So far so good, I feel great. Go for it, good luck!

I don't think you are too old at all! More and more woman leave parenting till late 30's/early 40's so I def don't see 37 as old. However it is important to remember that fertility does decline in late 30's, which I'm sure you know as you've had ivf, so I would say go for it and go for it sooner rather then later. Maybe not trying as such, more lack of preventing x
