Advice needed - on holiday 6 wks pg and bleeding

Hi Ladies

I need some other opinions on this as driving myself cuckoo!

I'm 6 weeks pg (found out nearly 2 weeks ago.) And chuffed to bits.

However I'm currently on holiday and 2 days ago I started bleeding. Not heavy to start with but reddish watery blood every time I wiped myself (sorry for tmi).

Yesterday I went to the local Spanish hospital to get checked over as have had an ectopic in the past.

Hospital were amazing- had blood tests done with hcg levels of 13800 which Confirmed I'm 5-6 wks pg. Had a scan done too which measured at 5wks4 days.

Here's my confusion: getting by with only my school girl Spanish...The pregnancy is located in the uterus which is a huge relief and I saw the sac and something inside it but the screen was only briefly showed to me unlike in UK when you can have a really good look..I'm sure the gynaecologist said inside the sac is the embryo but too early to detect a heart beat. However when the a and e doctor discharged me he was much less optimistic and basically said have another scan in 2 weeks when you're home if you haven't kept bleeding and lost it and that the sac was empty?

Feeling really in limbo now. Bleeding has got heavier but still no pain or clots and is lighter than a period. It's been a few years since I had my two children so can't remember at 6 weeks if it's normal for a scan to show very little at this stage.

I've got another 8 days on holiday and trying to take on board advice given yesterday to rest without ruining the holiday for my 2 kids and husband.

I'd be really grateful for your thoughts on what could be going on!

Thanks x

It really depends. You could be slightly earlier than 6 wks as per the gynaecologists conversation and it's very normal not to see a heartbeat at this stage.

But there is no way of knowing until you have another scan in a couple of weeks.

If you are miscarrying at 6 weeks sadly there is nothing you can do apart from stock up on pads and paracetamol.

Having had a natural mc at the same time as you, It will just be like a very heavy period. You wouldn't get any medical treatment as too early.

I'm so sorry though, it must be frightening being on holiday and facing this Flowers
