Ultrasound safety?

What with one thing and another, I have had 12 scans during this pregnancy and I'm currently 35 weeks. I had never counted them till a few weeks ago and it really worried me. Have any of you had loads of scans as well? Are your DCs ok? I have been offered another scan tomorrow as I had reduced movement the other day (went on monitor tho and heartbeat looked fine). They have offered it for my reassurance as I have terrible anxiety leading to depression and they thought this may help but I am worried it may make my anxiety worse as it's yet another ultrasound. I made the mistake of googling... x

I've had many many scans (1 every two weeks before twelve weeks) three at 14/15 weeks, a private gender scan at 16 weeks a repeat gender scan at 18 weeks then my 20 week scan I had a scan at 22 weeks ND also Mother one the other day at 25 weeks ND I have one scheduled at 28 weeks and then every 2-4 weeks after. I have gd and a very high risk pregnancy due to mAy losses before and previous health problems my baby seems to be fine the risks are minimal. Also I just want to add I've been given 3 chest X-ray's 2 CT scans and an Mr all through this pregnancy aswell Andalusia had a lumbar luncture. And through all of that my little one is still going well. X

fuzzy the ultrasounds are really safe :) there is absokutely no evidence at all that ultrasounds have any negative effect on the foetus. We had this debate a few months back and I and others went into the primary literature to search for anything at all - we found nowt :) the thread should still be there if you fancy searching back for it.

mummy glad your little one is doing ok!
