Hello,

This is my first baby so not sure how this all works. I need the mighty wisdom of mumsnet please!

So technically my 25 week midwife appointment should be next week, but I'm travelling with work so can't make it. I've booked in for this Friday when I should be 24+5. Do you think that is going to be a big deal I'm a couple of days early? I'm thinking not, but you never know!

Also, I need my Mat B1 form at this visit. Will the MW just be able to produce one or is it something I need to flag up as requiring?

I've tried to phone her 3x now to ask the above and left messages for her to phone me back and got nothing! She's been on holiday and I'm guessing she's swamped - also I did say it was non-urgent so it probably got pushed to the bottom of the list.

thanks!
Lemon

the timing shouldn't be a big deal. the matb1 should come from the midwife but in my experience ( which is only one baby) it was much easier to get it from the gp.
I found texting my midwife the easiest way to keep in touch. hope that's helpful x

I asked for my mat1b form from my midwife about 22 weeks and she was fine about it

I got one from my midwife at my last appointment. No problem at all. Just asked for it and she got one and filled out the relevant boxes and signed it for me. Just too a few minutes and easier than going through the gp which would have involved extra phone calls and trips to collect.

My midwife told me to get it from GP as she didn't have any at my appointment. It's my first baby but seen you usually get it around 200 weeks (I'm nearly 10) so was confused I was offered it then. Because I was offered it then I would see no problem asking for one or just popping into your go surgery to get one

*20 weeks not 200! Could you imagine! GrinGrin

Thanks guys, I am reassured that its at least likely that I will be able to get it on the day without too much hassle. And Sepa I'm really glad I don't have to wait until 200 weeks! Wink.

I've left my 4th phone message and still nothing - but I'm seeing her tomorrow anyhoo.
