how long after your babies were born did you feel ready to dtd again?

I know everyone is different but I'm just looking for people's experiences..

If I'm lucky enough to I would really like to have my next baby quite soon after my first (not due till Jan)
Thank you!! Grin

First attempted it again at 5 weeks but it was too uncomfortable, probably took 3-4 months before it was ok again. My DD is now 9 months and my periods still haven't returned so I am presuming my cycle hasn't started again yet- it can take a while if you are breastfeeding.

OMG! I am VERY into sex and plan to have it again within a couple weeks if possible, but PLEASE PLEASE do NOT have sex less than a week after birth.

Women who have sex after birth have a distinct chance of literally dying WHILE HAVING SEX. Please don't put your actual life at risk over a few extra orgasms. All the women who died during sex had sex 6 days or less after their birth. Wait at least a week.

7 weeks after first - second degree tear and bled for 6 weeks

5 weeks after second baby. Small tear no stitches and bleeding stopped after four weeks.

Barely had sex while pregnant!

This was discussed very recently...

2 weeks after both my children , but then both births were fairly straight forward with no tears. I don't recall bleeding heavily either time , I was past the "clotty" stage , anyway.

jmac88 generally I'm pretty normal down below after having 2 children but don't think I'm as toned as I was (obviously ). I always try and do my Kegals at least every other day.
My midwife told me that the women who tore during birth are less likely to suffer from prolapse later on in life. She didn't explain why but I assume the muscles aren't as stretched as much as you tear to make room for the baby instead (if that makes any sense at all , lol ). I didn't tear , hence why I'm so on top of my pelvic floor exercises !!

One of the reasons I was so fast after having my second is because tmi I get very very tight after giving birth which means the longer we wait the harder it is to have sex.
Same thing happens after my period everything is smaller.

An air embolism is very rare and won't happen though normal gentle sex as you shouldn't be shoving air up there. Even I wasn't wanting swinging from the rafters type sex that fast. Also out doctors recommend sex as soon as you feel up to it so that any possible problems down there can be picked up as soon as possible.
