Right..27/8 weeks and getting twitchy...going to use this as a little confession booth - please add yours if also seeking absolution!

  1. Tried for bloody ages for this baby and over the moon to be having him but often cranky as sin as whatever bone it is at top of bum kills, sleep interupted, sex life crap and crying all the time for literally no reason! Would swap none of this of course and think if knew was in this position 6 months ago would grab with both hands which just makes me feel even more of a twat! 2. Ate like a goddess trying to conceive and first trimester, Mcdonalds and diet coke crept in in second, odd glass of fizz at summer weddings now too and basically now regresssed to diet of 70% healthy and pure (max) 30% cheese on toast, dominos, chinese...
  2. All my mum to be mates really into buying cute clothes and nurseries and sweet stuff. I have started to find this tedious and am mainly up for planning feast of soft cheeses and excellent port for when the kids come out.
  3. Done loads of mental research into things that can go wrong and keep freaking self out. Can't believe this is normal, certainly isn't constructive.

Why can I not be smooth cheerful blossoming healthy pregatron?!

love this thread!

I'm 19 weeks with DC4 (pregnancy 3) and despite all good intentions I am yet again living on 'beige food' - so crisps, pizza, toast, cereal. I cannot stomach anything with colour so fruit and particularly veg is all out!

I have organised nothing - baby's room is still decorated from when it was DC1's room and there are boxes of junk in there. it is easier to be lazy when its not the first as you know all the gear is around somewhere!!

and I feel bad for DH as I cant bear to be touched, even hugged when I'm PG Sad

I have had to give in and have the odd lager.....

and I'm not even halfway yet!!

Oh this is making me feel better, I ate Parma ham when I was on holiday and stressed about it for ages afterwards before promptly deciding to get over it.

I have also eaten quite a lot of unwashed fruit, I just inspect it first to make sure it's not dirty, basically the same I have decided.

31 weeks and the baby has nowhere to sleep yet and I've eaten one million haribo, maoams and fake percy pigs.

Dietcokemonster · 24/08/2015 10:55

Want to know more about fake Percy pigs!!!! Decided if have core bit of healthy food eg some tomatoes or whatever at lunch is ok to have as many galaxy ripples as need on top of that :) got glucose test challenge today at UCLH so will find out if need to reign in the rippled soon.....

The Dutch government will be declaring a global Edam shortage if I carry on at my current rate of consumption!

DH eats sickeningly well, so for ease (laziness?) I have a great 'base' diet, massively let down by top ups of said Edam, Pepsi Max, chocolate brioche, ice lollies and crisps.

Oh, and I'm causing dismay amongst all the grandparents by not wanting either a pram or cot before baby arrives (have crib and sling) or a million 'outfits' (prefer babygrows). Apparently, I'm not normal because I'm not excited about buying 'stuff'.

Tootsiepops · 24/08/2015 11:20

I've not been weighed since booking appt. Now 27 weeks.

Our local Italian restaurant is on speed dial - this whole pregnancy I've craved pizza and pasta. We had takeaway three times last week Blush

I nearly divorced my husband because he brought me the wrong kind of cake yesterday.

I've eaten goat's cheese, runny eggs, practically raw steak and unpasteurised fruit juice.

I'm mainlining full fat coke.

I've got a bottle of my favourite champagne waiting in the fridge already.

I haven't bought the baby any clothes yet.

I can't wait to get back to the gym.

Also - I find my baby kicking me to be very, very weird. I keep reading about other pregnant women who moon about how special and lovely it is, but my baby seems to mainly be kicking me in the foof, and sometimes it's quite sore!

Lemonfizzypop · 24/08/2015 12:17

Fake Percy pigs from sainaburys! Eric the elephant I think they're called?

Oh and yes very much looking forward to being able to drink wine again..may have googles "drinking alcohol and breastfeeding" quite a few times Blush.

Had a glass of prosecco on Friday and it was so flippin delicious, eked it out over a whole meal but even just having it there felt nice rather than a boring soft drink.

babybat · 25/08/2015 14:17

I keep forgetting I'm pregnant. I have to look at the app to remember how far along I am.

I'm pretty relaxed about diet, have had runny eggs (Lion stamped), blue cheese and we're off to France soon so I suspect there will be more forbidden food consumed then. Still drinking a couple of cups of coffee every day.

Generally off the booze because complete abstinence is easier for me than moderation, but had a few hot toddies when I had a cold, because it seems most cold & flu medication was out too, and I figured they were the lesser of two evils.

Kept horse riding until 16 weeks, and I'm still cycling to work every day. Going on a cycling holiday too.

Have been working from home on a regular basis so I can have an afternoon nap unnoticed.

Friday night I ate out - a 3course meal - no need.
Saturday - Costa coffee toast with lashings of butter, Chinese takeaway in the evening, followed by packet-s- of sweets.
Sunday - I had an all you can eat breakfast at a chain restaurant.
I then went swimming to earn myself a double cheeseburger, a bacon and cheese snack wrap and a caramel sundae.

Got on the scales on Monday morning, had the shock of my life. I am now on a pregnancy diet. all the sweet stuff and pop is out of the window. DH & DD can eat as much in snacks as they want, I WILL NOT GIVE IN! No more takeaways either.

I also automatically reached for a beer from the fridge on Saturday night for the first time in pregnancy. I almost cried when putting it back Sad

WombOfOnesOwn · 25/08/2015 18:33

14 weeks here. I've eaten sushi, raw egg, rare and even raw beef, blue cheese, runny cheese. And a lot of McD's fries.

Mostly I'm sad that this pregnancy is so HARD on melots (LOTS) of sickness, horrible low back/hip/butt pain that kept me from walking for 2 days a week agoand that it's getting me down even though I wanted it so badly (recurrent MCs). Gotta run, another wave of nausea sending me to the loo...

ICantDecideOnAUsername · 25/08/2015 19:47

I've been so much more relaxed with dc2 than I was with ds1.
I keep eating things and then wondering if I should have rather than the other way round.
Had a chicken sandwich for lunch today that was passed its eat before date.
Not got any of the baby things ready yet, all still in the loft (just hope it's all ok!).
35+1.

triggy80 · 25/08/2015 20:46

Yes to all of the above!! Am 36 weeks and worried I am about to become the world's worst mother for so casually flaunting all the rules about what you can and can't eat and being so unjoyful throughout this whole pregnancy. I don't even have anything to moan about as have been healthy but oh so lazy, the sofa has a me sized dent in in from where I have spent hours and hours laying on it watching mindless tv. I walk into Mothercare to buy stuff I need and get so bored I walk out with nothing bought- usually straight into the Greggs next door where I have no problem finding items to purchase!
And agree with PP about the kicks, when they started they made me cringe, now they mostly annoy me with their painfulness!
Oh and the baby is being bottle fed due to my need to drown myself in various bottles of alcoholic beverages once he is out. I have found that if you verbalise this to people you pretty much get looked at the same as if you told them you voted UKIP
