movement slowed down...

Hi,

I am 30+6 and I'm not sure whether to get in touch with my midwife or not.

I hate over-reacting and in truth probably am not that worried but over the past few days the movement hasn't been quite as much as it was previously but id still present. I am up to eat and also can't sleep and she is quite wriggly and had the hiccups so I know she is still in there doing her wee thing on her nocturnal timetable. She also sometimes gets caught in my ribs (ouch!) so these things put my mind at ease.

I didn't know whether she is wriggling less as she has less space? Is it worth contacting the midwife? Am I making mountains out of molehills?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Also I haven't been counting kicks as it says to count them at a time when she is active and I am either at work or its 3am when she chooses to be active.

I think when she comes out I am in for many sleepless nights...

I would call. In all probability it's nothing, but always best to get these things checked out Smile

If you get Any reduction or change in baby's movements you should call your local labour ward/assessment unit to get an assessment. In our area they say always get checked out on the 1st day you notice it, it's unlikely but if there is a problem the earlier they detect it the better. Babies should move as much as normal right up until they are born, it's a myth that they slow down because they run out of room. Like you say, probably all fine but best to get checked out. X

Yes, please get checked out at your local delivery suite or assessment unit.

At the very least, it'll stop you worrying. I've been to mine twice so far in this pregnancy. No one minds.

Thanks ladies, I'll give them a call

Phoned this morning and was advised I should have phoned two days ago - oops! However as she has been very very active this morning I'm not to worry and don't need to do anything. Thanks again ladies x
