Ok this sounds weird but dreamt last night that I was in labour - last time I dreamt this it was period pains and my period started. I am 15 weeks preg after one easy pregnancy (3yrd old) and 3 m/carriages so am a bit neurotic. Has anyone else had weird dreams like this?! Think it might have been because I think I have already felt baby moving and maybe I felt that in my sleep?!

A lot of people seem to have vivid strange dreams in pregnancy and they're often related to the pregnancy itself. You're not mad! I am having moving house nightmares at the mo, whilst also almost 15 weeks pg. Had mad, mad dreams about being forced to emigrate and that sort of thing.

It will pass!

'It will pass!'

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and still occassionally getting very vivid dreams (most vivid ones were at about 30weeks).
This week I dreamed I had a big argument with my mum and woke up crying, the other week I dreamt that my child was growing 3 years in every day and that by the Thursday he was 15 years old and that his childhood had gone by too quickly, Another time I dreamed I was in a plane that crash landed, but as there was nothing I could do about it and events were out of my control I just sat and relaxed until the plane had crash landed and I could do something positive.

So yes, very wierd, but it is a chance for your mind to work through things (I believe) and although I tend to wake up crying from them! they seem to make sense of situations.

Oh I had loads of weird dreams throughout my pregnancy, I used to love going to sleep to see what I would dream that night, weird eh !

Ilovemyboy · 24/11/2006 15:48

I always have dreams that my baby is here but I am not feeding him enough. The time passes really quickly in my dream and there seems to be no time left to feed him.

Weird!

Anneme - I had stressful nightmares about my baby until I started to feel him move every day so therefore I knew he was okay. Try not to worry. It is perfectly normal. xxx

Also 15wks and dream all sorts of twaddle. Last night I dreamt that DH was hiding a mannequin called Carolyn behind the curtains in the bedroom. Whenever I went out 'Carolyn' would come to life and DH would have an affair with her. Other exciting dreams so far include:

*Having the baby but being so busy at work that I can't visit it for a week after it's born (in the dream I wasn't present at the birth)

*Discovering at my scan that I am pregnant with a tarantula

*Baby stolen by witch

*Giving birth and looking down to find a toddler looking back at me

Oh I could go on...

Don't want to give birth to one though.

Dinosaur, I am laughing so much. I don't know if I'll be able to keep a straight face at the Christmas meet up. Waaahhhaa.

ilovecaboose · 24/11/2006 17:05

I kept dreaming about leaving baby on buses and the like and not being able to get them back!

Also had dream where I hated the name we had picked for the baby, but I couldn't change it and was absolutely devastated thinking that was the name my baby was going to have to put up with for life.

Also used have dreams about baby turning into wierd things.

May not sound that bad but I used to wake up in a state.

Yep, though haven't looked at the thread in a while. is it even still on?

anneme · 24/11/2006 21:38

I feel much better now - but still hope i don't have to go through too many labours in my dreams - the real thing is enough! Give me a couple of weeks and I will be less paranoid when little one starts kicking lots.
My first thread and its really helped me - thanks everyone
