Anyone had a Home Birth - Muswell Hill Area?

Hello

Has anyone arranged a home birth in Muswell Hill? I am moving there in January and was told by UCLH that they don't think they can send midwives there for a home birth as it's too far from UCLH and not in their community care area. (I have yet to speak to the consultant midwife.)

I can't register for GP yet as I haven't actually moved, so wondered if anyone knows if you have to be booked in at a certain hospital in order to arrange a home birth? (Can't afford a private midwife.)

Any advice gratefully received! Thanks.

No I don't think that you have to be booked into any particular hospital. I know that my GP surgery books women into the Whittington or the Royal Free. But afaik there is no particular hospital that you need to be linked to.

Welcome to MHill btw. I'm just at the bottom.

Thank you Marslady. I'll phone the consultant midwife at UCLH and see what she has to say then.

Really looking forward to moving. Thanks.
