Pre-preg size 16 bottom 18 top . Most weight in tummy area .

I'm only 14+3 but my clothes are struggling to fit . Forcing jeans to button and tops feeling a bit snug . I hated this stage last time but can't remember what I was wearing . I just remember feeling really really fat all the time .

So I'm going to have to buy some new clothes but can't wear maternity yet as I've not actually got a bump yet . Just a bigger flabby saggy belly what an attractive picture I'm painting BlushBlush

evans and simply be are your friends for dresses and elastic waisted trousers!

I know right, this stage is very annoying! I lived in knee length skater dresses or tunics, and leggings. Anything stretchy and baggy really!

Just about to enter third trimester. I've gone from a size 18 to 22 just having to be careful of cut of clothes. Currently favouring a pair of debanhams shorts with elastic sides. No idea what I'll wear for next 13 weeks.

When I'm at home I've been walking about with my jeans unbuttoned BlushBlush

I just feel so fat Sad I have a few nights out coming up as well .

Anyone in the Glasgow area see someone cutting about in a bin bag ... That'll be me Confused

At that stage I was well into maternity wear. Nice cool Jersey dresses and jeans with a lovely big elastic bit over the tummy. Why would you wait? If you get maternity stuff now you'll get more wear out if it and be a lot more comfortable. It will probably look better too.

Well today I bought a pair of maternity jeans and I couple of tops . But because I still have a massive "B belly" I just look so fat in them . I'm going to give it another couple weeks then start wearing them . I think I'll get another pair of jeans , ones that are "over-bump" to see how that helps .

Dh and I have a night out on Friday night no idea what I'm gonna end up wearing ConfusedSad

Try some over bump jeans - I wore those and stretchy tops at that stage and it worked a treat :) or anything with an empire line style and a bit of stretch.

H and m over bump jeans and a white stuff tunic was my uniform (and still is at 32 weeks!)

TravellingToad · 19/08/2015 17:05

Have you tried a bump band? Perfect for this stage. You just wear your normal jeans unbuttoned and the bump band sits on top and looks like a long vest. They're brilliant.

Get maternity wear. Why buy new clothes to then get more at another time when you buy maternity?
I will be hitting maternity trousers for work as soon as I have had my scan as bloating in the afternoon is making them uncomfortable. I won't spend money on bigger size to then get maternity wear.

I agree with leggings and tunics/dresses. You can get nice dress jumpers also Smile

The reason I don't like to wear maternity clothes at this stage though is that I don't actually have a bump as such yet just a bigger "fat" belly . I just look so fat Sad and I get really self conscious about it .

Get maternity wear now and save money! I'm a size 20-22 pre pregnancy and I bought a few things at about 10 weeks then more after the 12 week scan. I actually found being in mat wear made me look pregnant and not just fat! Which is what I wanted. I've found Next really good and Marks and Spencer do some staple pieces and I fit comfortably into their size 20.

Hi Maya

I was a 20/22 before falling pregnant and am currently 19+4, i also have a B belly too and have found that over the bump anythings are great for disguising the 'B' and helping you look pregnant rather than 'fatter'

that being said i am living in maternity leggings (bon prix) and my normal skater dresses and a couple of pairs of maternity jeggings from matalan with normal empire line tops in a size bigger.

I also bought a 'winter coat' from ASOS maternity, although they only go up to a 20, it easliy drowns my man shoulders and GG knockers!!
