Hi all, I have just had my 36 week check with my Dr and he said babys head is halfway engaged, does anyone have any idea how long it will be till she comes? The dr said it could be anywhere between 24 hours & 2 weeks! This is my first pregnancy.

my first baby's head was engaged from around 36 weeks. He was born at 39 weeks. it may be very soon for you, but it can take a few weeks yet.

good luck, and hope you dont wait too long for your baby

erm...how long is a piece of string? 38 - 42 weeks is normal range....so who knows???

hopefully you will be on time.. but there is no way to tell , just from the head being partially engaged! some babies are engaged for weeks, some only engage when labour starts.

try to relax and enjoy the last few weeks of pregnancy, while you have the time to put your feet up , before LO arrives!

My baby's been fully engaged for 4 weeks now, and still nothing. I convinced myself that once he was engaged, that'd be it and he'd be out within hours...no such luck.

Am so fed up now, I'm considering sending DH in with kitchen tongs...

Yup, or getting comfortable for all of 5 minutes before some part of your body goes numb and you have to rearrange yourself!!

And I thought pregnancy was such a wonderful time - can't wait to meet my little chap now!
