This happened to me today. I have been told to come back for another scan in 2 weeks incase either sac has 'caught up' Has this happened to anyone? I'm totally bricking it !triplets!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

No, but wow!

I do think that an empty sack and a "vanishing twin" is quite common though so I'd be trying really hard in your shoes not to expect multiples.
But whether it's one or three, congratulations Flowers

Wow indeed! :)

There's something called superfetation, where you can ovulate twice or more in a cycle and conceive twins (no reason why it couldn't be triplets though) that are a few weeks apart (or indeed have different fathers.)

It's very rare indeed, and much more likely you have two genuinely empty sacs in there, but I bet the sonographer doesn't see that very often!

Congratulations either way!

Thanks for replying both I think it is unlikely that anything will come of the other two sacs but it'll be in the back of my mind until the next scan.
