I know this has been covered before, but I can't find the threads! I am finding it impossible to sleep on my left side as recommended. I inevitably end up on my back as it is so comfortable for me. Am I doing any harm to the baby?? Or is it not too important at this stage of pregnancy (I don't have a very big bump yet).

Anglaise, I remember being so worried about this, I went to sleep on my lhs every night but kept waking up on my back! Apparently it is just that the baby can cut the supply of a main artery once they get heavy (about 30 weeks - I think). It doesn't do any harm to the baby but can cut the blood supply to your head, but apparently you would wake up anyway or start to feel sick.
Sorry my medical knowledge is not accurate, maybe someone else will come along with the proper medical terms!
I wouldn't think it is too important yet, try to get sleep however you can!
