is anyone about???????? advice quick! Just went to loo, wearing think panty liner, and the thing is damp. around the edge of the dampness is a pinky tinge. what's this???? its surely not a show - not thick or mucus like at all? midwife did say that waters can go (when she came here a week ago) and be a tiny trickle - hardly noticible on a pad, and can be pinkish in colour. am panicking - arrrgh! is anyone about?

ps not due til 17 may

is your bag packed??????????

pickledbeetle · 08/05/2004 20:59

When my waters broke (-several years ago now!) that was how it began. I just changed to a proper sanitary towel but then it got heavier and phoned hospital.

Egypt - I'm not sure, but can you phone your midwife to be on the safe side? Oh, and agree with mummysurfer, if the bag isn't packed, now might be a good time to throw stuff into it

lots of hugs

mummysurfer · 08/05/2004 21:01

how exciting - good luck

Egypt · 08/05/2004 21:02

have had sharp pokes and stabbing pains in groin for last few days and again before i noticed this just now. just the mild period pain and had an urgent need to empty bowels a mo ago - which happened easily - bit like diarrohea! (sorry) - maybe just cos i'm nervous. no - i'm ok - not panicking - and i've just put a shepherds pie in the oven - so must have food first!!!

oh and braxton hicks - but not painful, just like normal, but without much let up!

libb · 08/05/2004 21:10

Good luck Egypt! I knew you were keen to go but honestly!

We're all thinking of you xxxxx

Egypt · 09/05/2004 00:29

hellooooo! Just back from hospital. called del suite and they said to go in and be checked. mw thinks it was a watery show. cervix still completely closed and no signs of waters broken. bh's were q strong and uncomfortable (stopped now). She said that i may be in early stages and should prob go into labour in the next day or so!!!! I dont believe that though. Think i was just panicking about a bit of watery discharge....we'll see!

GeorginaA · 09/05/2004 08:14

Oooo... Egypt! Thought for a while there we were going to get a birth announcement! Hope you got a good rest last night

stace · 09/05/2004 08:33

hi eygpt, how was your night and how are you this morning, just to give you my tuppeniworth 4 years ago i had a similar thing no gush but continual leakage apparently you have forewaters and hindwaters the forewaters can go before and it can be perfectly safe, i allowed to be left leaking for 5 days although they did monitor the baby and the amniotic fluid daily. So dont panic if youre still leaking just keep in touch with the hospital. If the discharge goes yellowy or brown go straight to hospital tho' Good luck and looking forward to an announcement.

pickledbeetle · 09/05/2004 08:39

Been thinking about you all night.

When my waters went (as I said earlier) I went to hosp. where they said I wasn't in labour but kept me in anyway(?!). My son was born 6 hours after they told me that!

Hope you had a good night & it's always good to have a practise run!

Egypt · 09/05/2004 13:50

thanks all...had a very good night's sleep - no tinges even! don't know what is going on - nothing apparently!! definitely know it wasn't my waters after all as not a sausage since. guess it was just a watery show like she said. hmph. was getting q excited and now nothing!
