What are you missing today?

Today I'm having a bit of a sulk because there's a farmer's market next to my office, and I'd really like one of the pots of strawberries and cream. Only I can't have them, because they're covered in thick, delicious, organic unpasteurised raw milk cream. I know it's not for long, but somehow they're calling to me.

Last week I had to leave the room as DH tucked into a baguette covered in pate. I didn't even eat pate that often, but the fact that I can't have it makes me want it more.

So, what delicious forbidden foods are you missing today?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have had baked brie lot, rare steak when i fancy it and runny eggs most mornings, i know where my food is coming from so i think the risks are low.

Pre frozen sushi is fine and squid is fine too.

I think there is too much about not being 'allowed' to eat certain food, when i was og with ds 6 years ago, it was defo dont eat nuts.....now it eat nuts! I think its all about balance, if the food is in date and reputable, i would eat it.

I MISS WINE

chopsface · 30/07/2015 18:18

I miss goats cheese, rare steak and wine :-)

But as lilac said. I just miss feeling well. 20 weeks and still feeling nauseous and poorly :-(

DefinitelyNotElsa · 30/07/2015 18:42

I miss wine. Particularly ice cold Sauvignon blanc on a warm summer's evening.

berryblueberry · 30/07/2015 18:47

Why not caffeine-free (diet) coke? I've been having that instead of wine when I fancy a drink in the evening...

I've really fancied a nice couple of glasses of champagne lately! And liver, definitely liver... my local Turkish restaurant does an amazing liver starter that I've had to watch people eat... heartless sods!

MoreCakePlz · 30/07/2015 19:09

Runny eggs! I miss them so much I'm going to eat a ton of them soon. And pate/soft cheeses - think I'm going to write a post- pregnancy shopping list for DH Grin

littlemissjt what's wrong with Haggis? I only really have it on Burns night, but I'd never thought it could be a problem!

Wine. Champagne. Fizzy wine.

For a while I didn't fancy it at all, but now, especially with the sun shine I just find myself craving it :(

The only other thing would be not being able to have more than 2 cups of tea/one cup of coffee/a few cans of diet coke a day. I HATE limiting my caffeine intake.

I was a smoker before getting pregnant, but strangely not missing that really at all.

BollinSausage · 31/07/2015 18:04

Runny eggs! They're all I ever want when I'm feeling ill, and I've been feeling really ill... I'll probably crack soon and start eating them.

I also have outdoor space for the first time in about 10 years, so gutted that I can't enjoy a cold glass of wine in my garden in the sun!

New30 · 31/07/2015 18:13

I am a right old tea wife. Was off it for the first 5 months or so, but back on it now and Yorkshire decaf tastes fine!

ARV1981 · 31/07/2015 18:17

I was a smoker before getting preggers and I've not missed it at all! In fact it was because I started to actually feel sick every time I had a cigarette that prompted me to take a test! It must have been really really early on as well, because the test put me at about 3 weeks pregnant, so I don't think the few cigs I smoked before finding out can have done that much damage...

I also ate rare steak the night before doing the test. Wanted to get one in before it was denied me...!

ARV1981 · 31/07/2015 18:19

Oh yeah, and now if I smell cigarette smoke on people or just in the air I feel really grossed out. I think pregnancy has been the best stop smoking plan imaginable!

Giraffe5 · 31/07/2015 21:49

Wine!!!!! ????????????????????

Stylingwax · 31/07/2015 21:55

A really nice glass of red wine.
I've had the odd beer with work to avoid suspicion but spend the whole time feeling guilty and working out where I can pour half of it so it's not the same.
