But does anyone know what sort of oil, if any you should use for perenial masage

I have seen some for sale £20 odd but is there a cheaper natural alternative

waste of time & money. just put your feet up and relax instead.

It's worth doing in my opinion: didn't tear with my first baby 6 weeks ago, did perineal massage before from about 37 weeks. Doesn't matter a jot what oil you use, basically it's just stretching the old bits as much as poss to prepare for the baby's head (not really massage but sounds too awful to call it what it is...)

best of luck!

perineal massage i'd give it a go..!!

I bought some sweet almond oil massage base from Holland & Barrett for this v.purpose, about 3 pounds? Any massage base oil will be ok, body shop etc.

sweet almond oil with some lavender and mandarin oil added (at a concentration of 1.5% I think)
