Why are they so popular? Is it less painful?

Ahayes my DH sat at the side of the pool, passed me the gas & air, passed me water and Haribo, put music on for me, and basically kept me going! He helped with my breathing and kept encouraging me when I started to panic that I couldn't cope.

I found it nice initially but after pushing for a bit I was hot and bothered and decided to get out. My DH admitted a couple of weeks ago that there was one moment where the sieve came out, but the midwife was so quick that he didn't see anything.

They examine every four hours, although I had given birth before that could happen, and you don't need to wait to be told to push, that urge just suddenly comes over you and there is nothing to stop it :)
