Elective c-section - when do you get given a date?

I'm 28 weeks and have an appointment with the consultant on Thursday. I'm hoping to get my date then so we can start planning!!

This baby no.4 for me (with a 15 year gap between baby 3and 4) and c section no. 4 so it's definitely happening that way!

For those that have had elective c sections, when we're you given a date? Was it as early as 28 weeks or much later? Does it vary depending on location? I'm in Leicester where there are 2 hospitals, a friend has her date already and she is a few weeks behind me but is having her baby at a different hospital, I haven't yet met with the consultant so far this pregnancy.

Would be interesting to see the variations. Thanks.

Just ask the consultant on Thursday.. Either he will give you a date or tell you at what point they will allocate you a date. I assume these things vary hospital to hospital.

I got mine at the 20 week appointment. But then I could demonstrate that I had researched my options

Got mine at 20 week appointment too, went in confident and had researched pros and cons etc though I didn't have to fight my corner at all! It was pretty much a case of consultant :'so you've had a previous emergency section have you any thoughts about how you want to deliver this baby?'

ME: yes I would like an elcs please
him: ok I'll go get the diary!

I'd say it depends on the reason, i got mine about 10 days before but it was due to breech baby.

Mine won't book a date until 36 wks!

Mines was booked last week at 34 week appointment with conaultant.

I was 36.5 weeks.

Mine won't book a date until 36 weeks even though it's been agreed. I find out the date this coming weds!

Got my date at 32 weeks, I'm in Kent. Have mine booked for 38+3.

Am in London. Got my date for elcs at 36 weeks. Would have been nice to get it a couple of weeks earlier but it's St Thomas' so v busy hospital

Mine was booked at 23 weeks.

I think I only got mine at the 36w appt, it was quite late.
