Possible induction tomorrow

Hello, I am 39+2 and we had to go in for monitoring tonight due to some reduced movements (3rd time). The doctor did a stretch and sweep which was unfavourable and I need to go back tomorrow for further monitoring and if there is no improvement I will be induced sometime tomorrow. Just wondered if anyone has any advice on anything we need to be aware of? Thank you.

I was induced for reduced movement too, it all went very smoothly for us despite me being quite anxious. The biggest issue was all the waiting around for the ward to have space/enough staff/it to be my turn. Take things with you to keep your mind off things. It can be a long process. I hung around in the hospital for 24 hours before they even did anything, but then was only 8 hours from them starting the induction to DD being born. Good luck!

I was given the pessary Thursday and am still waiting for a spot on labour ward to open up so I can have my waters broken as the pessary failed. So I'm on day 3 and no further to having a baby than I was a week ago. I would be asking if they have the capacity to take you as at the moment I genuinely feel like I might crack up.

Yes, I agree, if they don't have space for you on labour ward I would have a frank discussion with them about whether to do anything at all. Once they've started the process they're unlikely to let you go home, and if they're very busy you could be there waiting around a long long time...

They are going to induce me tomorrow, they said they would do it then as they didn't have any capacity today so fingers crossed they appear to be on top of their scheduling... As there is still some concerns regarding movements we are not really comfortable with it being left and doing nothing. I suppose I just have to go with the flow.

Good luck for tomorrow, fingers crossed they'll have plenty of space tomorrow, then it won't be long till you meet your little one!

It will be fine, it's a short period of time in the grand scheme of things and you will have your beautiful DC at the end of it. Stock up on magazines and snacks and I'm sure you'll be great :)
