I'm 18 weeks and I'm getting this weird sensation just above my pelvis every once in a while. I think I've noticed 3 times already today. I'm not sure if it's the baby. What should it even feel like?

I felt first movement at about 16 weeks both times. I would describe it as either a single piece of popcorn popping or a muscle twitch.

Fugghetaboutit · 23/07/2015 20:29

About 16 weeks here too. Little prods and flutters

Anna2710 · 23/07/2015 20:36

Around 18 weeks and felt like a tiny twitch

larnieperty89 · 23/07/2015 20:46

Not until about 19 weeks with my first baby & it feels exactly like pop corn as some one above said. I think the movement was in the middle of my tummy, you could easily think it was a bit of gas Grin

lauraa4 · 23/07/2015 20:51

18 weeks for me :)

MrsZumbaDancer · 23/07/2015 20:52

19 weeks for me too

sherbertlemon17 · 23/07/2015 20:56

16 weeks for me. Sometimes it felt like little vibrations, other times tiny pops or little tickles and twitches.

sianihedgehog · 23/07/2015 21:01

Around 25 weeks before I was sure that was what I was feeling , but I have an anterior placenta .

Ladypug · 23/07/2015 21:17

Same - anterior placenta. First felt around 21-22 weeks but nothing strong or regular till week 24-25

ejclementine · 23/07/2015 22:02

I felt a sort of pulse in my tummy at coming up to 16 wks (like when you get a pulse in your eye). I didn't feel anything again for a while until I felt it again almost a week later. Saw the midwife today and the baby kicked the heartbeat monitor. I described those feelings and she said they would definitely have been kicks. Exciting! My placenta is low posterior.

mummyneedinganswers · 23/07/2015 22:32

17 weeks like a light tapping everynow and tthen but I'mnow 21 weeks now and just feel her move aall the time

Yika · 23/07/2015 22:35

18 weeks and it felt exactly like what it was - a kick!

bunny85 · 23/07/2015 23:15

18 weeks and felt like a muscle twitch. Then more and more like a gentle tap, then like a proper kick in the next weeks.

Frillsandspills · 24/07/2015 00:04

I'm 19 weeks now and I felt something at 16 weeks like a little twitch and I've felt it every now and then since. I've felt more prominent 'twitches' lately but thought it was gas or something, but reading everyone's responses on here I'm wondering whether they may have in fact been little kicks?!
I hope so!

MummyPiggy87 · 24/07/2015 00:19

16 weeks for me. By 18 weeks movement was very strong x

newbian · 24/07/2015 01:06

20 weeks - posterior placenta but I'm tall so baby had room to move around without my noticing as much. I never felt flutters, just definitive movement/punching/kicking from the start, impossible to mistake for anything else!

IfYouWereARiverIdLearnToFloat · 24/07/2015 06:52

I'm 19 weeks just now & feeling something like a ripple in my low belly very occasionally...

plonkie · 24/07/2015 13:29

I felt movements early at 15 weeks, like those above have said, felt like a muscle twitch! I've got an anterior placenta but didnt realise this till looking at my notes when I was about 23 weeks, and by that time baby was wriggling all over the place. So I was surprised to be feeling him move so much really.

tinyme135 · 24/07/2015 13:51

I'm 16 weeks on sunday and I felt like an air bubble popped by where the midwife said she can feel the baby so I'm guessing that's my first movement

debzmumof2 · 24/07/2015 15:13

I'm 15 weeks 1 day with my 3rd child and just yesterday I felt a tapping sensation where my middle boy use to batter me lol. I have felt it again today around the same place so I'm guessing my bubbas saying hi Grin

batfish · 24/07/2015 15:17

I first started feeling the occasional little twitch at 17 weeks but doubted myself as friends and my doctor all told me it was too early! But I'm certain it was the baby as it didn't feel like anything I had ever felt before and it just became more frequent until I started getting proper kicks - first time I felt from outside was at about 21-22 weeks
