Hi everyone,

This is my first pregnancy and today I went for a trans vaginal ultrasound, they couldn't see anything in my uterus not even a sac. I then went to have a blood test and my HCG came back as 806 which they told me is very low.. I have to go back for another test on Friday.

Will I miscarry!? I am filled with worry :-'(

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm 21 weeks pregnant, wen I was 4 weeks I had a ruptured ovarian cyst, and at 5 weeks my hcg was really low at 270 and at7 weeks was only 480 but I'm now 21 weeks. Please try not to worry to much everyone's levels of hcg vary x

RooibosTeaAgain · 22/07/2015 20:00

Hi it is the doubling of the hCG over 48/72 hours that is key. Is there any chance you are not 5&5?
I went for an early scan today - saw a gestational sac but nothing in it. No bloods taken so no idea how it is going. But size of sac put my dates forward which I am unsure about! Hope you get a good rise on Fri. Let us know. I have to wait 3 weeks for a scan.

Whosthebaby · 22/07/2015 20:01

Thanks for the advice, it really does help the nerves haha.
I took another urine test this morning and immediately got a very strong positive line on a clear blue test so I hope this is also a good sign! Fingers crossed for Friday's blood test!

Hi Roobios,

I have no idea if I could be earlier than first thought.. It is my first pregnancy and it's happened a few months after stopping the pill so I am not too sure how all of the dates work... I guess anything is possible? Fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy for you!

If you just came off the pill, your cycles are almost certainly a little bit off still. There is a very high chance you just are earlier than you thought.

Are you having severe cramps or bleeding? If not, then hope for the best but accept the worst is a possibility. Early pregnancy is really scary, I hope you get some definite answers soon. Will they repeat the blood test?

Whosthebaby · 22/07/2015 20:36

Yes, they are repeating on Friday.
I have mild cramps but no bleeding or strange discharge.

They found a cyst on my ovary which is apparently a good thing. Some people say the levels are fine for 5 weeks.. Others say higher. Others say it's too early to see a sac.. Others say not. It's all very confusing.

Yes it is very confusing. Early scans are incredibly stressful so do not recommend! ( I did not go for a scan today but for another reason and ended up with one!)

I think much depends on length of cycle and when implantation occurs.

CheesyWater · 23/07/2015 06:39

This is one of the reasons early scans can be as worrying as they are reassuring. It's so hard to tell accurately what's going on. Fingers crossed for positive news for you tomorrow Flowers

Hi ladies,

We have decided to have the tests on Monday as Friday morning would not be 48hrs .. Fingers crossed! Will update on Monday.

Hi everyone,

Good news, my results today were at 4000 HCG so they are increasing nicely and the doctor doesn't want me to have another HCG/Beta.

We managed to get a scan and saw the gestational sac but no yolk, the doctor did not seem worried about this at all and thinks when I go back in 2 weeks it will be there, she also says that I am earlier along and most likely have just turned 5 weeks, which would again explain the absense of the yolk.

All in all a very good day and I feel so happy and calm, ordering my baby books now and putting my feet up! Grin

Fantastic news! Great you got a scan as well.
I did not get offered blood tests but had a scan with just an empty gestational sac at 5 weeks ( have 2.5 weeks to wait for next NHS scan though) and consultant was not concerned it was empty as said was right for 5 weeks.

Whosthebaby · 27/07/2015 20:53

Hi Rooibos,

Yes I have to go back on the 12th for another scan, she originally said one week but I already had an appointment for the 12th so she was happy to keep that.
I was thinking about going back to England to have my scans etc but here in Spain they seem to be able to fit you in quickly so I think we will end up staying.

Fingers crossed we both see an amazing scan in 2.5 weeks Grin

We will be scan buddies!!
Hope next few weeks keep us calm and pregnant!

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update from my scan yesterday.... I was convinced there was something wrong all day but when we got their we saw our little bean! I even got to video and captured the sound of our gorgeous babies heart beat. I feel so blessed. I hope everyone is ok.

Low HCG at 5weeks+5 very worried!

Great news!!

Whosthebaby · 13/08/2015 08:01

Rooibos, how did your scan go? Smile

OP posts:
RooibosTeaAgain · 13/08/2015 17:32

Thanks. Saw a 13mm embryo with a heartbeat! No obvious sign of where bleeding came from so hoping it was just implantation bleeding and nothing worse. 4 weeks until next scan - how about you? It is my 12 week scan but just before 12 weeks as by scan I am 7+6 today!

Archie2011 · 12/07/2017 21:46

I'm so confused I have been ttc for 3 years, have PCOS!! found out I was pregnant 10 days ago. Due to irregular periods in somewhere between 3-6 weeks!! Dr send me from bloods and they can back at (dr thought) 4weeks 6 day 52ml and 5weeks 122ml. Dr called me in today and said it's possible Ectopic and have booked a scan tomorrow morning, still having pregnancy symptoms and positive tests I'm so confused 😳
