Does the father of the baby affect levels of morning sickness?

i.e. I had a boy in 2008, and morning sickness wasn't pleasant but nothing terrible.

Met my DH in 2010 and quickly went on to have two daughters. The sickness was horrific.

I am now pregnant with DC4, only 6+3 ish but touch wood the sickness is manageable and bearable.

Could I be having a boy again? Or do the fathers genetics have an impact on sickness?

Not bothered what sex the baby is but I'm going to be constantly guessing between now and March

Every pregnancy is different, nothing to do with sex of baby or father, just different.

It does say on the nhs website that bad morning sickness is more common with a girl... aahhh it's fun guessing though!

I had no morning sickness and I'm having a boy (although I never get tummy sick in general anyway, thankfully) , however my cousin had no morning sickness and she had a girl.
My baby's fathers mum had terrible sickness every day of her pregnancy with both her boys and my nan had no sickness with any of her children except the twins she was carrying (one boy and one girl), her other children were 4 boys and 3 girls.

I suspect it's just random as to whether you get morning sickness or not although it is fun looking out for symptoms that appear in either boys/girls

Neither the father or the sex of foetus make any difference, and the nhs shouldnt be repeating silly old myths.

There is some science behind it, ie female foetuses produce more hormones, or something...

I had hardly any MS with my son. Had a girl pregnancy (sadly miscarried just before 12 weeks due to disability) but i was sick as a dog. Am pregnant again and it's exactly the same as the last, so assuming another girl.

No, there really isn't any science behind it. Female foetuses don't produce more hormones, just different ones, and they can't affect your sickness levels.

That's bad that they, and lots of other websites, are giving out the wrong information then!

I had average morning sickness with my daughter then it was horrendous with my son. I'm now expecting our 3rd and sickness has been average again. sex of this one is still unknown at the moment. all 3 are my husbands . x
