Worried because I *don't* feel sick!

I'm 6 weeks and 5 days (ish) pregnant. This is my first time and not sure what to expect. I had a tiny bit of bleeding a few days ago and have a scan booked at the epau tomorrow, but am terrified because I don't FEEL pregnant. I have slightly tender breasts but no nausea. Everywhere else you read that the nausea kicks in around 6 weeks, so the lack of it makes me thing the bleeding was probably a mc :-( Anyone else not had any nausea at this stage? Thanks.

I had horrible, horrible morning sickness with my first, and none whatsoever with my second.
Be happy if you avoid it ?

Velociraptor · 19/07/2015 08:47

I didn't start feeling sick until 8 weeks. Some people never do at all, so I don't think its anything to worry about.

CuppaSarah · 19/07/2015 08:48

Don't worry, it can kick in any time! But even if it doesn't, it doesn't mean anything some lucky women don't experience morning sickness and that is totally normal. Early pregnancy is a scary time especially if you've had bleeding. But there's no set rules for pregnancy symptoms I promise.

LemonYellowSun · 19/07/2015 08:49

Don't worry about lack of nausea as a sign of a problem. I didn't suffer at all during 2 pregnancies luckily so it's not something everyone experiences.
Good luck x

Me! I was in a total panic after 3 mcs & kept saying to dh 'I just need symptoms to prove it, I just want to feel sick.' Fast forward to week 8 & boy did I regret that wish!! Am now 14 weeks & just starting to feel slightly better. I'm sure the symptoms will come but if they don't count yourself lucky!
I've had 3 bleeds as well and all is find so try not to worry (I won't follow my own advice though!) good luck at epau.

docmcstuffins1 · 19/07/2015 08:50

Thanks AllThreeWays and Velociraptor! Reading other people's posts I'm dreading the sickness, but at the same time wishing for it as then I'll feel pregnant. This pregnancy lark gives you some VERY confusing emotions!

Thanks everyone, it's so reassuring to hear that not everyone has the same symptoms. It seems like every pregnancy site I look on says "by week 6 you'll start to feel sick" and I was starting to feel abnormal!

I didn't have morning sickness at all in either of my 2 pregnancies
I felt queasy a couple of times in late pregnancy when I was overtired
Had other symptoms though ( that I still remember and both DC have left school now )

Sort of metallic taste in mouth

Restless legs ( horrendous )

Exhaustion ( couldn't sit down without falling asleep )

Starving . All the time

Then when DS was a baby , I lost loads and loads of my hair ( all my fringe fell out , along with half my pony tail )

Everyone of us is different

docmcstuffins1 · 19/07/2015 08:56

Haha tourist, I said last night to my husband that I was tired and that was a symptom, but he pointed out that I was always tired before I got pregnant so it didn't count!

I didn't get any sickness with either of my two DCs, not everyone gets it.

scarednoob · 19/07/2015 09:00

I had none at all and begged to feel sick right up to my 12 week scan, but no, not even a dry heave!

I also had a tiny bleed at 6+2, all was well. hope you're just the same!!

TheNumberfaker · 19/07/2015 09:02

I had a strong gag feeling whenever I put something in my mouth like gloves and even when brushing teeth. Never felt sick though! Everyone's different so try not to worry. Some of my friends said that they felt different but I never did.

marcopront · 19/07/2015 09:03

My sister had terrible morning sickness with her two daughters and nothing with her two sons. I had it but mildly and that made me suspect i was having a girl, I was right.

OMGBabyNo3 · 19/07/2015 09:05

DC 1-no sickness ever
DC 2- felt a bit queasy occasionally
DC3- felt so sick for first 14 weeks I could barely look at food.

docmcstuffins1 · 19/07/2015 09:05

Thanks everyone- I'm feeling much more positive now. You guys are awesome!

I had hardly any nausea and no sickness, what I did have was a dreadful metallic taste in my mouth though. I also had a slight period like thing at about 6 weeks and was perfectly ok.

ShipShapeAhoy · 19/07/2015 09:07

My mum didn't have nausea with me but when I was pregnant with dd I had it for about 7 out of the 9 months.... Be careful what you wish for!!

BeverlyGoldberg · 19/07/2015 09:08

I had no sickness whatsoever, no nasty symptoms, nothing to,price I was pregnant other that a positive test... I currently have the most happiest and healthiest baby you'll ever see on my knee!

Later on I got SPD and very swollen legs and ankles so it wasn't all plane sailing. Just enjoy this time, it's impossible not to worry (and that never stops!) but try to enjoy it ... and congratulations! Thanks

hopingforsleep · 19/07/2015 09:25

I had very mild nausea with my first pregnancy and not until well gone 6 weeks - I didn't find I was pregnant until 7 1/2 because of bleeding which continued on and off until 12 weeks, baby was fine. Now 20 weeks pregnant with twins and no nausea or bleeding at all so everyone and every pregnancy different

Unescorted · 19/07/2015 09:28

I didn't have morning sickness with either of mine - seeing some people I am very thankful.

primarynoodle · 19/07/2015 09:29

i didnt start having any nausea until about 7/8weeks and had no sickness at all.

in fact im nearly 11 weeks now and its starting to ease off.

dont worry about it, it will arrive and youll be Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy and wishing the nausea stage away!!

chickenfuckingpox · 19/07/2015 09:30

not everyone gets sick i didn't actually feel sick for awhile when i had my first the only hint i had was when chelsea won 5-0 and i cried my arse off i hate football so this was a bit of a hint that the test i had done might be wrong when it said i wasn't pregnant Grin

also i had bleeding with all three of my children and ive had all three children safely

KatieScarlettreregged · 19/07/2015 09:32

Was not sick at all with either of mine. Not once.
Had razor nipples, exhaustion and what felt like 3 months of PMT instead.

villainousbroodmare · 19/07/2015 09:39

Not so much as a tang of nausea once in the last 41 weeks. Suits me!

BikeRunSki · 19/07/2015 09:39

At 6 weeks I said the same to my sister.
At 8 weeks I was hospitalised with hyperemisis, whuchbstayedvwith me until about 16 weeks.
Don't count your chickens!
