private antenatal care and 12 wk scan in worcester/cheltenham pls?

Hello,
I'm British but currently living abroad so cannot register with a gp.
Just found out I am around 10 weeks and am visiting in the UK for the next 4 weeks.

Would like a proper check up and scan, not a print your own 4d picture experience!

Is the bus 12 week scan also nuchal check? I've seen on private price lists that is extra...

You can book a private 12 week scan and unchallenged test, yes. If you look up private clinics such as FMC in London you can see what tests are available and at what prices.

Sorry should say that private clinics charge extra for each but but say on website.
NHS ask you if you wish to have Nt test or not. Are you planning on private or NHS? Either way I guess booking in advance helps.

Thank you, I will be going nhs once I'm back permanently to give birth, but just for the sake of getting checked up befor getting on a long distance flight I will do the 12 week scan privately.
I have found clinics on the internet but I have always been sceptical of private Cate so was looking for personal experience and recommendations
So nt test is not standard on nhs?

NT is standard on NHS in England ( as far as I know) but it is optional. Requires right time so I guess it would be tricky for you to organise on the NHS if you are not here currently.

Personally I can recommend the FMC in Harley Street, London. Having had an NHS 13 week scan and a 14 week one there ( with top professor as well), there was no comparison. NHS suggested we went there due to problems picked up on NHS one ( well they cannot suggest you go but as good as - 3hrs drive each way as well). The length of scan, details looked for and having a top research consultant made our NHS test ( with a sonographer not a consultant) look like a totally different product. We found them helpful but they did not run to time - and I could understand why as they give everyone the time they need! We were told to go on a Wed as then it was the day Prof N works there. Sadly we lost the baby at 31 weeks.

MUMS in Solihull I have also heard good things of. Though I am sure there are plenty of other good clinics in London. Am afraid not heard of any nearer to you - hopefully some other people can recommend them to you.

My antenatal care is under Worcester so I'm from this area.

Your best bet as a previous poster said is MUMS in Solihull. They are very good and not mega money.

If you are moving back permanently to Worcester then Worcester Hospital is excellent and they've just opened a multi million pound new Birth Centre

The main consultant Mike Wylde at Mums is excellent and also works within the NHS if that is any help. Have used MUMS and FMC and if we are fortunate to get to 12 weeks again would use again. Thanks OP.
