Hello, I am really a long time lurker and found Mumsnet a huge source of help and humour during my first pregnancy and beyond - ds now 16 months. So thank you all ! Now taking the plunge and hoping to become a chatter as this morning (!) I have just found I am pregnant - due 30 July, so only just.
I am thrilled! However, I have been experiencing quite a bit of pain on both sides and also centrally, quite low... is this normal? Feels like I am about to get my AF - but the test was a very definitive BFP. With DS I felt sick as a parrot from before I found out but no pains. Any thoughts? Thanks so much.

morning! and congratulations!! sounds par for the course in early pregnancy...period like pain, aching, dragging, ...all signs of an early pregnancy being established ...lots of huge hormonal activity going on right now ! i know an awful lot of women feel like this early on! read the threads on here!!

should you get severe one sided pain or any bleeding , go and get checked out ..otherwise...relax ! as much as you can with a 16 month old!

with DD i didn;t get sick as quickly as i did with DS...had a week where i thought i had got away with it!

hope all goes well....xxxx

congratulations. I agree with lulumama - sometimes you do get wierd achy pains. As long as the pain isn?t taking your breath away as a sharp pain or accomp with other symptoms such as high temp/ bleeding try not to worry too much. However, I am a big believer that women unconsciously and consciously know a lot more about their bodies than many realise and if you have a real concern that something is not right, speak to a professional and get it checked. If nothing else, it would reduce your stress levels and make you feel better to be told nothing is wrong!! Keep in touch x

Thanks both so much - I feel fine actually - but will go and tell my GP sometime this week.. as far as I can remember nothing much happens til 12 weeks anyway.. Have either of you any advice about joining a thread - there seem to be lots for people due at the same time but I am a bit intimidated!! Thanks again.
