Anyone else pregnant with a really massive commute?

Mine is 2hrs each way door to door via bus/train, so it means early starts and home later. I'm just about to return to it at 18 weeks pregnant after a long reprieve. I commuted up until about 8months last time I was pregnant.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Also i have no idea how I will return to that after mat leave for DC2 is over!! Is it even possible??

I've got a 90min door to door commute involving 20min walk each end then a 50 min train journey (used to be 2hrs involving 2 trains) and I'm pretty knackered with the walking part now at 31 weeks.

I don't know yet how it will work after I return from mat leave as I don't want to be that far away from the baby....will wait and see!

I can't say that my commute is as bad as yours, but I have SPD and it is killing me. Normally it is doable in 75 minutes but I am so slow now and have to take a break in the middle so it's taking easily 90 minutes these days. 10 minute walk (now taking closer to 20 minutes), 40 minute train, 10 minute tube (I now have to take a 10 minute break before even getting on the tube) followed by 10 minute walk (now taking closer to 20 minutes). I arrive at work and feel like I've achieved all I can for the day and it's time to turn around and go home!

I am also really unsure how I will do my commute/job/take care of my baby once mat leave is over . . . I get stressed just thinking about it!

I start at 9 and I have to leave at half 7 to get to work and I finish at 6 and depending on traffic I can go home in an hour or it could take up to two.

I'm coping fine at the moment but give it a few more weeks and it'll kill me

Well I did manage to go back to my 2hr-each-way job by going a bit part time & splitting my time so that my DH was never left to do nursery pick up/dinner/bath/bedtime on his own for more than 1 day.

Worked ok for us with one...not sure that would be as much of a goer with 2!

My commute is simple (just one bus with walking either side) but can be lengthy depending on the traffic, and with recent roadworks pretty much all the way along the route - especially round Oval/Kennington - it's been taking 2 hours lately (normally around 1.5). I have the option of the tube as well, in which case it can be a little quicker, but there's no quick way home which does make me worry slightly for my return from mat leave!

I've been very smug about my easy (if sometimes long) commute as even the tube is simple (one 25 minute tube ride, then a 35 minute bus at the other end) if I need to get it, but having experienced a packed national rail service the other day when I was travelling further out of London for a gig in the evening, my sympathies go out to anyone having to do similar journeys as it was unbearable - hot and so busy!

I have a 90 minute drive to work each way so leave the house at 7.30 to get there for 9 and don't get home until after 6.30.
Depending on motorway traffic it can take me up to two hours one way on some days.
I am 35 weeks and have been doing this the entire pregnancy. Only one week to go ????
