Feel like this baby is never coming out!

40 + 2 I'm so fed up of waiting. I have had no signs apart from the occasional twinge or hours of period pains that don't turn into anything.

Got a sweep on Wednesday, refused the one on my due date. God knows why.

Anyone else go into labour without having a show/loosing plug ect?

How late were your first children?

I had no signs whatsoever with ds. No waddle, very few, very mild BH, no show, I was really lively and well and my waters just broke at 39+3. This time I've been having BH, back ache, pain etc for 2 weeks and no baby so far (I'm 39+3 now).

I had one like that. I'm fairly sure he would still be in there now if they'd left him, there was no sign at all of anything starting. I went 10 days late and had to be induced, but then he came out in a hurry. 5 hours from when labour started properly, until he was born.

Believe me that baby will come out.

Be patient and enjoy your last few days of peace.

I gave up trying all the tricks in the last couple of days, went for a long walk and then just put my feet up and relaxed for the weekend, things started happening on the early hours of Monday morning. So I would recommend lots of rest as you'll need your energy for pushing :)

Easier said than done I know, I was so impatient and really pi$$ed off x

Being 'overdue' is really tough. Remember due dates can only ever be approximate, your baby isn't late, it's on its working on its own time. You're still early on so there really is every chance your baby will come naturally. Acupuncture is powerful stuff for bringing on labour. I actually got it on the NHS. It worked - ( but I was 42 weeks by then so they induced anyway.) I was absolutely dreading being induced. I ended up having a c-section, last thing I wanted. But you know what, it was fine. It really was. Whatever happens you will be OK. Do something nice for yourself each day you're overdue, you deserve it!

I'm still here with no baby! Just got back from midwives and had my 2nd sweep! Once again my cervix isn't soft so I theres not a cat in hells chance its gonna work. So upset inducement ward ringing tomorrow to arrange going in Monday

Sympathies! I was17 days late (induced) and got quite sick of curry, pineapple, walks, bouncing on a ball etc! Wish I'd just tried to relax - not easy I know.

Hope the baby makes an appearance really soon!

Thanks ladies I think I'm gonna concentrate on doing what I want and resting but I am getting very bored.

cloe you don't have to be induced did you ask if they would monitor you instead? Remember what we said on your other thread?

I no I don't have to be but I just think how long can i leave It. My partner is already missing out on some leave for work and I don't want my placenta to all of a sudden stop working. I think I've looked into inducement stories too much and just seen the bad. Women get induced every day with no problems and I think this new way of a cathetar balloon sounds the best as it just puts pressure on the cervix gently opening it.
