Clothes after C Section

Hi,

I just wondered what are the best things to wear post section. I've already bought some huge granny pants, but what trousers? I understand that I don't want anything resting on the scar, so should I get some over the bump maternity leggings or do I need loose clothes?

I also hope to bf, so any (budget friendly) nursing top recommendations would also be greatly appreciated.

Can't help with the bottoms as I've not had a section but for cheap nursing wear, there's no need for proper nursing tops. Wear a loose fitting scoop-neck vest with a normal (ideally loose) top on top. Pull the top up and the vest down and bingo! Access to boobs but keeps your tummy covered up, plus the gathered material from the pulled-up top covers your chest up nicely . I found nursing tops quite cumbersome and many more revealing than you'd expect. Spend the money saved on decent nursing bras instead.

I am 48 hrs post section and living in nighties in hospital (need easy access for catheter, pads etc), but plan to go home in some loose yoga style trousers or over bump leggings and a loose TShirt. Plus big pants! Incision is well covered so don't think it should rub but may wear my nighties round the house for a few more days! For BF I have stocked up on cheap vest tops and loose t-shirts for layering/access.

Granny pants, maternity leggings and dresses were my lifesavers after my EMCS! Comfy as can be.

Breastfeeding dresses are best. You can add tights or leggings later on when comfy, use for feeding for months, and wear alone straight after. Soft with no band you can wear in hospital bed also if you prefer not being in bed wear all day

Not the cheapest ( but do have a sale at the moment). But last very well. I wore roughly the first 9 months all the time, twice as two babies close in age. Then still in good condition and gave to a friend ( but you could sell on eBay)

This one I def recommend. I didn't have c section, but wore soon after birth and to go home in, and felt like I was me, rather than in baggy joggers and terrible! Like I said wore for months after.

Last time I stayed in maternity trousers (over bump) for a week or so until the pain had eased a little.

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately it seems that maternity clothes in size 12-14 run out of stock really quickly!

I bought some nice loose pyjamas that I was happy to wear round the house. Reminded people that I'd had an op and was comfortable

I had an emcs in May and just wore maternity leggings is hospital for 2 nights then wore whatever when I went home (with big knickers) as my scar was so low down, below the bikini line so everything went well over it

I wore cheap jogging trousers from asda, about £4 a pair in a size or two bigger than normal, super soft and cheap!! I usually ended up topless when feeding as my other boob would leak loads and it was easier top off with a towel!! So not much help there, sorry! Good luck
