If you had an elective c section how
Long before your actual due date were you booked in for?
Presenting as high risk but due a week after Xmas, have cd already and panicking about not being home for them over Xmas

Mine was at 39+1

zippyswife · 07/07/2015 20:07

39+5 they wanted it as close to 40 weeks as possible.

The later the better for the baby...I was super keen to have mine at 38 weeks, but when researching was actually quite shocked at the differences in life outcomes between early term deliveries (37 weeks) and later ones (39-40 weeks ish)

It really seems to affect all aspects of development, physical health, IQ, educational attainment etc...

Mine (for breech) was booked for 40+2 as there was no room in theatre before then, I was fuming but as it happens I went in to labour at 37+5.

WorriedMutha · 07/07/2015 20:21

38 + 5 for me. No problems or adverse development issues.

Sarevon · 07/07/2015 20:21

39 + 3. Baby was breech but had already requested planned section due to previous emergency one. She had turned on the day of the section!!

Usually in week 39 as PP have said 37-38 are now classed as early term so unless there's a medical reason they are unlikely to do it earlier than 39.
However, you'll have the Christmas bank holidays around then it sounds like so you might well end up with 38+6 or 40+1 or something because they have set days for the planned sections but might get moved because of the bank hols

Booked the date at a 36 week appointment (confirmed breech). Section happening at 39 + 3, though they did offer me 38+6 but I had a preference for the later date (Monday rather than a Friday) for childcare reasons, luckily they were flexible.

I had an emergency section at 36 weeks then electives at 38/37+/37 in subsequent pregnancies - they normally book it for 39 weeks here though.

I got the dates after my 20 week scan for 2 & 3 and as soon as I booked (directly to consultant as so high risk) with number 4 which was about 8 weeks.

weelamb123 · 07/07/2015 21:35

Booked for 39 weeks and this was booked in when I was 34 weeks. Xx

Shootingstar2289 · 07/07/2015 21:36

My section was booked at 23 weeks by a consultant.

I had a c-section with my first, after a failed induction. This time around I told the consultant I wanted a VBAC but she booked a c-section in case I don't go into labour...

My section ended up to be changed by 2 days though - it's next week!
