Pregnant again, miscarried 6 weeks ago!

Hi all, to my shock I have taken a pregnancy test today which is positive I miscarried 6 weeks ago and haven't got a period yet, I am in shock I can't believe it, it's also frustrating that I will not know how far I am until I have scan though, has anyone been through this, do I count from when I miscarried? No idea when I ovulated. Over the moon scared and shocked! Any info would be great thanks

Your doctor will give you a referral for an early dating scan or at least that's how it works here.

Just checking that you tested negative inbetween your miscarriage and your current BFP?
Not at all wanting to dampen your excitement, but from experience the pregnancy hormone can hang around for a long while after a miscarriage.
not sure where you'd count from, but as you said presumably from the date you started bleeding from the miscarrige. Although ovulation tends to be delayed after a MC.

You will initially be dated from your miscarriage until you have a dating scan to determine how far gone you are. As you haven't had a period in between chances are you will have this scan earlier than you would have otherwise.

My 18mo DS was conceived a mere two weeks after a MC (no period) and I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant with a baby conceived a month after a MC. So while I'm sure you're anxious given your history, I urge you to stay positive.

This happened to me too. I got pregnant two weeks after my miscarriage. I had an early scan at 7 weeks but the hospital used the dating scan I had at 14 weeks to give me my due date.

Thanks everyone, sizethree no I haven't taken another test prior to this one since my miscarriage, of course I know what you mean though :) but, the test I took today was shockingly dark two lines, the one I had in April were very faint. Certainly believe I am pregnant again as I don't think I would sull have a positive 6 weeks later? Anyway in regards to my history I will be scheduled to have an early scan anyway (thank god) had three miscarriages in total (one gorgeous 4 year old girl in between) so every pregnancy so far has been nerve wrecking, after my daughter I never thought I would miscarry again but guess I was wrong. Looks like my luck is in after a positive test this morning though :) and very sore boobs. In shock
