In bed having a sunday lie in, although it was about 10pm before I admitted it was definitly labour and called my parents. We went to hospital at 2am and ds was born at 5.20am, exact same time I was born

Watching the hairy bikers cooking on tv for my daughter and doing bedtime for daughter when my son was born.

In maternity triage unit, with suspected bladder infection due to 3 weeks of BH every 90 minutes or so. Suddenly realised it hurt a lot more than the previous one & they confirmed that yes, I was finally in labour!

Was in hospital on bed rest at 27 weeks gestation. It was a Friday evening and I knew they weren't going to send me home until the Monday now which stressed me out beyond belief. I was so upset because I'd been in hospital for three days already with no one telling me what they thought was happening. My blood pressure shot through the roof and when I went to the loo I had passed the biggest bloody show (sorry tmiShock) the nurse had ever seen. My daughter was born at 3:51am the Saturday morning.

  • got out of bed to go to the loo and do back exercises (wtf?!) waters popped.
  • was watching The Enfield Haunting and there was a scary bit, waters popped.

Both times, DH asked if I was sure I hadn't weed myself. YES I AM SURE!

Christmas shopping in Selfridges when mild contractions started. On a crowded Tube when I realised they were probably labour. Arrived home to find in laws delivering Christmas tree. Didn't mention I was in labour thought erection of tree and subsequent dinner with in laws. Finally they left and I burst into tears and told DH I had been in labour for hours.

Helping DP fit our kitchen. We were up against it but thought we had another week before Dd1 was due. I woke up with very mild contractions that progressively got worse...with each and every door I was passing and handle I was screwing in!! Made it until 6pm until I had to give in and down tools. Dd1 was born 10.27pm...me and dp equally as shattered!! (And still hadn't finished!!)

It did mean we got lots of yummy homemade food and meals donated in the very early newborn days which was fabulous however!! Smile

In a restaurant with DH and his best friend. Contractions started at 2 mins apart and just got quicker.

Friend brought his car round and drive us home. Friend told me that I looked to be in so much pain he would never have sex againShock.

DS born 3 hours later and 30 mins after arriving at the hospital.

Was asleep listening to my hypnobirthing cd and woke up to dull period type pains which were coming and going. Timed them for 90 mins, then nipped to the loo, got back into bed to sleep and my waters started going, six hours later she arrived.

Walking home through the park, in the middle of the night, after having a curry and late night out with friends. Just thought my back hurt at first.

Soon became apparent that this wasn't ordinary backache.

Eating a massive roast beef dinner - DS1

Asleep - ds2

Jen1610 · 06/07/2015 22:49

1st time waters broke at new years party but didn't actually go into labour until the next day in hospital. 1 hour ten mins and dd1 was born.

2nd time waters broke as I bent down to put washing in my daughters drawer but again no.contractions until I walked through the hospital door then boom, full on none stop contractions. 45 minutes later dd2 was born.

3rd time woke in night, body was automatically bearing down. No contractions at all, well no pain or uterus contraction felt. rushed to hospital at 3am, panting the whole way to try slow down the birth, and ds1 was born when we got there.

GinAndSonic · 06/07/2015 22:49

DS i was induced.
DD i sat down on my husbands side of the bed to undress for bed and pop, my waters broke Grin i was so scared, and my DS was asleep next door so i text him (he was downstairs) saying "help, my waters just broke, what do i do?!?"

Essexgirlupnorth · 06/07/2015 22:54

In bed woke up at 5am having contractions, got up ran myself a bath and left hubby asleep. Dd finitely arrived 6am two days later.

DramaAlpaca · 06/07/2015 22:56

Asleep in bed each time.

meglet · 06/07/2015 22:59

last antenatal class.

I'd had acupuncture at tea-time to try and avoid induction. started getting grumble sensations around 8pm. We had a group, end of term pic at the end of the class. I was grinning like a loon while trying to keep composed.

Lonz · 06/07/2015 23:44

I was asleep, then woke up about 4am with a bellyache. When to the toilet and realised something was happening. Then spent another 2 hours rocking on my bed, differing whether to go back to sleep or not, before waking my mum up at 6am because hell was breaking loose! Then the turmoil followed.
