Hello I thought I would seek some friendly advice. Midwife said baby's head felt like it was 2/5 engaged. I am 38/40, first preg - does that mean I could go into labour sooner rather than later? Not noticed any bh at all during pregnancy either. Thanks!

that means partially engaged...that is, 2/5 of the head can be felt above the pelvic brim...

it does not really mean that you are going to have the baby sooner rather than later.......but it is a good sign it is starting to engage and drop into the pelvis, ready for birth! it means the baby is head down and fitting into the pelvis..so heading the right way!

some babies are partially engaged for several weeks, or keep bobbing in and out of the pelvis!

not noticing BH is not a problem! some women never feel them, or have lots and lots !

enjoy these last few weeks ...rest and nurture yourself...x
