Just a bit of a rant!!

I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby, 5th pregnancy! Over the moon and loving being pregnant after a miscarriage in March :( anyway, I have 3 lovely boys already and getting seriously stressed with EVERYONE commenting on how this one "better be a girl" and how "disappointed I'll be if it's ANOTHER boy" all my kids r a blessing so regardless of whether this baby is a boy or a girl it will be loved just as much either way! Actually really upsets me makes me feel like if it is a boy (which I have a gut feeling it is ) then it's "unwanted" by other members of me and my partners family and friends! It's insensitive and not nice remarks to make, anyone else having these issues?? Xx

I am one of 5 girls and my parents used to say the same thing! Every pregnancy was 'I bet you're hoping for a boy!' They weren't in the slightest as long as a healthy baby arrived! No advice on a comeback but you are not alone x

That's awful! All wee babies r a blessing and what's meant to be will be.
I'm terrible for not being able to bite my tongue. I'm currently 32 weeks with my second dd and people have made similar comments
I just respond with
As long as the baby is healthy and doesn't have a horrible attitude like you I'll be happy

Oh I know it's awful, really bothering me, maybe pregnancy hormones r making me more sensitive, haha! Cos I know it's not meant to be cruel or hurt my feelings but just think sometimes people should think about what they are saying! I struggle to bite my tongue too have blew my lid a few times now haha, might use ur comeback though would soon put them in their place I bet xx

I'll everyone who has one child is asked that at some stage of any subsequent pregnancy! You could always resort to the MN Classic of "Why would I think that? Did you mean to sound so rude?"

how r u coping in this heat being so pregnant? I'm dying and I haven't got a big bump yet so can only imagine how u r feeling..xx

Faded red, I know like I said I'm probably just being over sensitive..but I'm a soft thing, n get easily upset, raging hormones don't help haha! Xx

I'm not on same boat but expecting my first and everyone wants us to find out baby's sex and we are like No! You just wish sometimes people would but out and regardless what baby it is - it's still your baby and you'll love them unconditionally .

Aw congratulations! Hey each to their own we r finding out the sex only cos I'm too impatient to wait, haha! But no one should be interfering in decisions u make think families can sometimes get a bit too involved xx

when I was pregnant with ds2, I used to get 'was it planned??' As I already have a ds and a dd, so nobody could work out why I was having another as I already had one of each. I had a mmc 2 years before, so my response was simply 'well that's a very personal question, but this pregnancy was much hoped for, as we realised after my miscarriage that you can't plan these things' it possibly made people uncomfortable but it was an honest answer.

Ds2 is now a gorgeous 8mo lying flat out on my lap after his 2nd waking of the evening enjoy every minute of your pregnancies, don't let people take away from it, it all seems to go so much quicker in subsequent pregnancies with being so busy with other dcs doesn't it xx

Aw sorry to hear that, pregnancy is difficult after a miscarriage, extra worried about any twinges etc..yeah I've also had that after all of my babies, is a very personal question to ask, should mind their own! ???? I completely agree this pregnancy is flying in but it will be our last so I intend to make the most of every second of it! Xx

Oh enjoy lucky you! Am yet to convince dh that we should go for a 4th I think ds2 would love a little play mate just like ds1 and ds had each other but I don't think dh would go for it!!!

Well my 3 boys r with my ex partner, and my new partner has 3 kids (who we see regularly and pay for, just incase anyone wants to question that which is something else that bothers me) so after 3 years together and a lot of thought we decided a baby together would complete our "little big" family keep on at him he will give in, haha xx

rant allowed. hope you feel better after it. just breathe and don't let the insensitive (and ?at times unintentionally so?) comments raise your bp etc. this is your special time to Mummy this new little baby. lots of rest, tlc, and looking forward to meeting your lo

Yeah I know I shouldn't get stressed, oh believe me I am enjoying this pregnancy so excited to meet my little prince/princess..my man is a superstar and is making sure I do as little as possible :) xx

Tell them you are hoping it is a boy to go make a 5 a side footie team (with DH).

Tell them you actually wanted a puppy but your dh wouldn't let you have one so 'settled' for a baby instead. That'll shut them up!!!

Lol, I'm sure that would soon shut them up..wouldn't mind having another boy, least Al have plenty boys to look after me, cos boys do always look after their mums don't they? Xx
