Fetal Heart comment by consultant?

Hi I'm 38/40 I saw my consultant yesterday for a scan and although she did not mention anything at the time I read the note she put and it is said "FH less in strength but reg (presumably regular?)" I have a stinking cough/cold and she has put me on antebiotics as I am having trouble breathing when I start to cough! Could this just be a symptom? Any advice appreciated

Sorry pinewood, I have no advice but thought I'd bump for you.

what a worrying thing to write in your notes but to not comment on....might be that it could not be heard as well as previously, rather than an actual problem with the heart beat, ifyswim

why not give the midwife a call? or the consultant? for some reassurance..though if it was cause for alarm, i imagine it would have been discussed with you.

hope you are feeling better soon xx

sorry to not be more help xx

breathing does get generally harder as your baby gets bigger. one of the best bits about having the baby (apart from actually having the baby) is being able to breathe again I think.

re your notes: if it was serious the consultant would have said something. don't think a weker heartbeat would be a symptom of your taking antibiotics though.

Are you sure it doesn't say FM meaning fetal movements? Doctors' writing can be completely illegible Hope you feel better soon.

good point daisy mooo.......!! FM could look like FH! my obstetrician had to decipher everything before i left my appointment!

fetal heart would have been written FHB or FHH as is heart beat or heart heard

Thanks for the replies everyone. Only started taking the antebiotics yesterday so hopefully they will kick in soon

Yes Daisymoo could well be FM (Fetal Movement) looking at it again now. This baby is so much calmer than my son was previously and I did mention that my bump didn't wriggle much! Quite surprising considering how much coughing I'm doing - must wake it up! I guess there is not so much room to wriggle at this stage anyway

The consultant scans me everytime I see her and I hope she would have booked my induction earlier than a week on Monday if she had any major concerns? so hopefully worrying over nothing.
