Feeling so rough does anyone know any remedies?

Hi. For the past 2 days I've had a rotten sore throat, sick belly and diarrhoea. I'm 19 weeks pregnant and am so worried because I used the Vicks nasel spray as online it said its safe but my pharmacist said do not take, and just suck lockets and tunes. The just aren't helping me at all its like sucking a useless sweet
I don't want to keep taking paracetamol I'm just so scared I'll hurt my baby, argh I just want to cry !

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can take in pregnancy... All you can do is honey and lemon for the throat (honey and lemon juice in hot water) and keep doing steam inhalations with a bowl of very hot water and a towel. Do look after yourself and rest, drink plenty and hope that the worst has passed within a couple of days. Easier said than done though

Definitely don't take Imodium/loperamide for diarrhoea (even though you probably really want to!)

I was at maternity outpatients yesterday with a UTI that is not shifting & they encouraged me to take paracetamol - if your running a fever it's safer for you & the baby to get that under control.

Agree honey & lemon and steam inhalation will help too.

When I was pg (long time ago now!) I found that lemonade warned in the microwave for 30 seconds helped. Also the juice of half a lemon, half an orange and honey with hot water is very soothing. Drink lots of water too. Hope you soon feel better

For the upset tummy try flat coke (a bit of sugar stirred in fast will make it flat), ready salted crisps and plain bread.
That will help replace the lost sugars and salts in your body and the bread will stop you fainting.

Lovely thanks. In tesco and have picked up oranges lemons and honey! I'll take paracetamol then, I just hate taking them I don't know why. Thank you all very much
