Just that really. I've had one before at my GP surgery but that only lasted an hour with two blood draws...

Any idea how long a proper OGTT will take in hospital? Will I have to take War and Peace in with me?!Grin

Mine took just over two hours but it depends on whether they run to time. I had to turn up, have a blood test, drink the Lucozade, then hang around for two hours before returning for the second blood test. They were very strict about the timings! So assuming your first blood test is taken on time, it'll be just over two hours from that point. Hope that helps. Definitely take a book!

Thanks ACatCalled I'll make sure to take a book in with me Wink

Mine took a few hours had bloods at 8.30 took the drink and then had to wait an hour to have bloods again and then wait another hour to have them again I didn't get out until half 11

Mine was also 2 hours between, I was told I'd have one after the first hour too but on the day they decided that it wasn't needed. Book or tablet or something similar to keep you awake definitely recomended Smile

2 hours and a a little bit for waiting - arrived had a blood test, then an hour later another blood test, then an hour later another blood test.
