Hi,

Had my 12 week scan, although a little early as I was 11 weeks 3 days. Just wondering at this point has the placenta taken over?

Many thanks.

Care to elaborate? Hmm At what point does this happen?

Thanks in advance.

Around 5-6 weeks iirc. Why are you asking?

At my 12 weeks scan they checked the blood flow to/through placenta.

Just wondering as i understand this transition was a risk point. They didnt mentioned anything at my scan.

At 8 - 10 weeks the placenta should be fully formed and functioning. At 7 weeks mine was still on a healthy looking yolk sac. By your scan it should be fine.
