Pains in side of hips & severe back ache???

I'm 35wks, and last night I had severe back pain which I've not had at all during pregnancy. Also had pain in side of hips. Anyone???

Don't have any energy, feel tired.

Baby has been moving all morning so not concerned. But is this normal? Could it be labour coming on?

Sounds like spd to me, ask your doctor if you can have a physio referral or better still see a chiropractor of it continues as it will likely get worse. I've had it badly and been on crutches since 15 weeks, now 39+5 and had enough.

I'm pg with dc2 and took myself off to an osteopath at 14 weeks. I suffered with spd and pgp with dd when I was pg with her but have managed to get seen by a very good osteopath who specialises in treating pg ladies and babies. this week my pelvis had managed to twist out of line seems that this time the treatment hasn't been as effective as I'm feeling sore and out of line already, but baby is moving really well so I think it's him stretching my uterus which is causing the joints to move and the pain

I had pain in my back and sides of hips recently (not pregnant though), and thought it was back trouble, which I am prone to. It got worse, so I went to GP and it turned out to be a kidney infection and I had to have three lots of antibiotics to get rid of it.

If you are at all concerned then I would go and get it checked out.

38 weeks, have had SPD and sciatica since about 30 weeks, hips ache terribly during the night waking me hourly. Physio does help temporarily although it bloody hurts too! Pummelled by a 6 foot Ukrainian blonde with scraped back hair, straight out of a Bond Movie. "rate ze pain from 1-10" she says while I am chewing my fingernails to stop myself crying out as she kneads my muscles. "10!". "No, it cannot be 10" she sneers....

OP prob worth checking with your midwife.
