Head low down at 34 weeks

Hi all,

I had my 34 week appt today, i am 35 weeks tomorrow. The midwife said when feeling my belly "the head is very low, have you been feeling lots of pressure?!"
This is my second baby and she also said that the baby's head can dip in and out of the pelvis.....
I wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar?
Wondering if if means I may go early this time!!! ð??
Was 9 days late on my daughter.

Thank you xx

I'm on my second and the head was engaged at 34 weeks. Now 38+1 and head is more engaged (4/5's) but still no sign of baby! I was 6 days over with my first and expecting similar this time to be honest!

Hi, 2nd and sebequent babies often move in and out over the last trimester, at my 34 wk last week midwife said I was 3/5th engaged but I know she's moved up since as the pressure has let off a bit and I can feel a bum right under my ribs.

There is no way of knowing if you will go earlier this time, fingers crossed it's closer to your due date than first time round.

Thank you for your reply, you sound very similar to me!! Grin

I have completely forgotten from first time, how do you know when head is engaged?

Thank you also youlemming for you'd reply.

I was and am very lucky as had a good pregnancy on my daughter and this time around and wasn't in anyway fed up so being late didn't get me down at all. No way of knowing if will go early I guess no, just interested to hear your experiences.
I hope you're both feeling ok. Xx

I only know because the midwife told me! Although I can tell she's very low as the pressure on my cervix is pretty strong!

Dd1 was very low in pelvis from 32 weeks (head was engaged from then on). She was born at 40+4.

Dd2 still wasn't engaged at 39+4. She wAs born at 39+6 lol. X

Just shows there is no way of knowing!!! ????
Very exciting though! ??

Wish I had thought to ask if head was engaged now....

It will be in your notes if it was I think, my midwife always records it.
I have my 38 week appt tomorrow and hoping the head hasn't popped out, pretty sure it hasn't though!
My best friend had her second last week, head wasn't engaged at her 41 week appt at 4pm. First contraction at 8pm. Baby born just after midnight!

Ooh I will check my notes thank you!! Isn't it funny how too forget certain things?!.....

I like those stories of a fast second labour!! GrinSmile Hehe. Also goes to show how out babies will literally just make their move as and when they are ready full stop. ????
Xxx

For me her head was low down from 30 weeks, partly engaged. I went five days overdue :)

Cymrublonde1 · 24/06/2015 21:50

I think my daughters head was engaged for a few weeks and she was 9 days late so probably no point speculating! Lol...
It's quite fun too though as starting to get excited again now!! :) xx
