Have had 3 positive tests, but also some bleeding. Am currently in limbo awaiting scan or something, but how mad is 4 all you (mad) parents of 4 out there?

This wasn't er, planned btw

I'm 8 weeks away from being a mother of 4 and quite frankly I could/would/should drink 2 bottles a day ATM if it meant I'd sleep better.

Congratulations BTW, Hope the scan bring good news!

hi niceglasses

can't add words of wisdom about having 4 - i only have 1 ds

i too though have just found out i'm pg (last friday) but had a small bleed (sunday) so am in the same boat pg-wise. am hoping for a scan in 10 days or so

good luck
x

Tutter · 15/11/2006 07:28

ps am already missing my regular glass a day

niceglasses · 15/11/2006 07:33

Oh fingers crossed for you as well then Tutter - awful isn't it? My arse of a GP is making me submit a 'proper' urine sample for a pg test before arranging a scan, despite having 3 clear as day tests. Ho hum.

Unlike other 3 pgs I could still drink as well - still feel like it, maybe not good sign in itself, but helps with the teatime madness in this house.

do you know how many weeks you are? according to LMP i'm only 4w3d so need to sit tight for a bit for a scan. i get one at 6 weeks anyway because of aprevious ectopic. is your gp arranging a scan because of the bleed?

niceglasses · 15/11/2006 07:40

Its a complete mystery tbh. I had what I thought was my normal period during half term and thought no more of it. Then end of last week had some spotting. Really thought the menopause was on way but thought I better rule out a pg before arranging a smear (badly overdue) - and very clear positive. I couldn't be 3 weeks or it wouldn't show up (this is the only time we have had unprotected sex because I bloomin thought I was safe having just had my period.........). So really confused,. If I'm not 3 I must be about 7 or even 8. Bleeding eased up a bit now...don't know what to think. Have had m/c before.

how confusing - hope you get the scan soon to clear things up

how do you feel about being pg, if you don't mind me asking?

niceglasses · 15/11/2006 07:58

I think when that line comes up you instantly want it, or thats how it feels for me. However, I have been thru a bit of a rough time and am on ADs so am under no illusions.

Good luck to you - awful waiting.

Deffo not the old gimmerage then niceglasses?

Good luck to you & you too Tutter.

earthtomummy · 15/11/2006 13:47

Niceglasses, hope you're ok. I'm 6 wks with no. 4 and am not missing the wine. However, when the morning sickness abates I'm sure I will and post -birth....!?

flamesparrow · 15/11/2006 14:00

pmsl @ this title!!!

Congratulations NG

duchesse · 15/11/2006 20:12

I was in exaclty the same position as you, thinking I was having a normal period, back in August. And erm, it wasn't.

To cut a long story short, my little one didn't stay, alas. I miscarried at 13 weeks. There were other bleeds after that first "period".

And to answer your question, I don't know, but could you tell me if you find out please?

niceglasses · 16/11/2006 14:43

Okay had pg confirmed by hospital (doh - I knew that!) but have to go back to GP before a scan can be arranged. Lordy Loo. No more bleeding for now. I can't decide whether to panic about the possibility of having 4 kids, or panic about a miscarriage, or feck it and have a cup of tea. Funnily enough, don't feel like wine. Very unusual for me.

puts kettle on

It's lovely news, truly.

controlfreaky2 · 16/11/2006 14:48

i think at least two cups of tea are called for.... go on live a little

Miaou · 16/11/2006 14:49

Niceglasses, I've just had a bfp and am expecting my fourth - congratulations! I'm staying off the wine for now (until second trimester) but tbh I can't face it anyway because of the morning sickness

What age are your other three?

niceglasses · 16/11/2006 14:51

Ooo congratulations to you too - are we mad? Complete mistake in my case (thats my excuse anyhoo)

2 boys - 5 and 4. 1 girl - 2.

(Bonjour, bbgggl!)

Miaou · 16/11/2006 16:02

I did tell everyone Janh, but not loudly

Miaou · 16/11/2006 16:05

And I'm afraid I can't claim it was a mistake either, niceglasses - it was planned madness

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 16/11/2006 16:11

Congrats then niceglasses

And in answer to the opening question - maybe you should buy a wine box and be done with it!

roisin · 16/11/2006 16:15
