When to take evening primrose oil?

I am 34 weeks on Monday, and due to my spd they have agreed to sweep me every 3 days from 38 weeks. If my bishop score is above 5 I can be induced at 39 weeks. I will start taking some raspberry leaf next week, I think it's 3 a day for a week, then 4 etc isn't it? It's been a long time since I had a baby! I have heard about women taking evening primrose to soften their cervix but I don't fancy inserting it vaginally, so if I take it orally when would I start and how much do you take? Has it worked on you or is it no good? Sorry for all the questions, and thank you!
